Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to an electronic device that transmits radio signals for indoor proximity localization and digital content delivery. In one embodiment, the device may be installed in a standard electrical wall switch and powered by an AC power source.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for delivering content to a receiver, comprising:
 broadcasting a one-way radio signal from a wall switch to a receiver;   estimating on the receiver a proximity value between the receiver and the wall switch; and   delivering a content to the receiver based on the proximity value.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the one-way radio signal further includes at least one of a first identifier and a second identifier. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first identifier and the second identifier represent indoor locations. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the second identifier represents an indoor location within the first identifier. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the proximity value is based on the RSSI of the one-way radio signal on the receiver. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the content is at least one of an image, text, audio, push notification and video. 
     
     
         7 . A system for delivering digital content to a receiver, comprising:
 one or more wall switches that broadcast a plurality of one-way radio signals;   a receiver that receives the plurality of one-way radio signals and is operable to deliver
 a first content to the receiver based on a first proximity between the receiver and the one or more wall switches; and 
 a second content to the receiver based on a second proximity between the receiver and the one or more wall switches. 
   
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the wall switches broadcast the plurality of one-way radio signals in accordance with a configuration file for setting at least one of a broadcast interval and transmission strength of the one-way radio signals. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the one-way radio signals further include at least one of a first identifier and a second identifier. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the first identifier and the second identifier represent indoor locations. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the second identifier represents an indoor location within the first identifier. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the first proximity is based on the RSSI of at least of the plurality of one-way radio signals on the receiver. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the first digital content is at least one of an image, text, audio, push notification and video. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the plurality of one-way radio signals represent Bluetooth Low Energy Signals. 
     
     
         15 . A method for indoor location tracking, comprising:
 transmitting a one-way radio signal from a device to a wall switch;   estimating on the wall switch a proximity value between the device and the wall switch; and   calculating a location of the device based on the proximity value.   
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one-way radio signals further include at least one of a first identifier and a second identifier. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the first identifier and the second identifier represent at least one of a UUID and RSSI. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the second identifier represents a URL. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the proximity value is based on the RSSI of the one-way radio signal. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the location of the device is calculated by a processing circuitry with the wall switch. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the location of the device is calculated by a remote server.
