Abstract
A broadcast receiver and a method for processing 3D video data are disclosed. A method for processing video data of a broadcast receiver includes receiving a broadcast signal including a video stream, wherein the video stream includes a plurality of video stream sections having different viewpoints, acquiring viewpoint information indicating corresponding viewpoints of the video stream sections, and outputting an interface indicating a viewpoint of the video stream that is currently displayed according to the viewpoint information.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 16 . (canceled)
17 . A method for receiving a broadcast signal, the method comprising:
receiving the broadcast signal including a base view stream and viewpoint information, wherein the base view stream includes video frames that left images and right images are packed therein, and wherein the video frames consist of a first section for left viewpoint and a second section for right viewpoint; and extracting the viewpoint information from the broadcast signal, wherein the viewpoint information specifies whether viewpoints of the video frames correspond to the left viewpoint or the right viewpoint.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the viewpoint information is included in a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message in the broadcast signal.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the base view stream includes a base video view which can be decoded without referencing other video views.
20 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:
displaying a monoscopic video reflecting a intention on a content provider based on the viewpoint information.
21 . An apparatus for receiving a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:
a tuner for receiving the broadcast signal including a base view stream and viewpoint information, wherein the base view stream includes video frames that left images and right images are packed therein, and wherein the video frames consist of a first section for left viewpoint and a second section for right viewpoint; and a decoder for extracting the viewpoint information from the broadcast signal, wherein the viewpoint information specifies whether viewpoints of the video frames correspond to the left viewpoint or the right viewpoint.
22 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the viewpoint information is included in a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message in the broadcast signal.
23 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the base view stream includes a base video view which can be decoded without referencing other video views.
24 . The apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising:
a display controller for controlling a display of a monoscopic video reflecting a intention on a content provider based on the viewpoint information.
25 . A method for transmitting a broadcast signal, the method comprising:
encoding the broadcast signal including a base view stream and viewpoint information, wherein the base view stream includes video frames that left images and right images are packed therein, wherein the video frames consist of a first section for left viewpoint and a second section for right viewpoint; and wherein the viewpoint information specifies whether viewpoints of the video frames correspond to the left viewpoint or the right viewpoint; and transmitting the broadcast signal.
26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the viewpoint information is included in a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message in the broadcast signal.
27 . An apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:
an encoder for encoding the broadcast signal including a base view stream and viewpoint information, wherein the base view stream includes video frames that left images and right images are packed therein, wherein the video frames consist of a first section for left viewpoint and a second section for right viewpoint; and wherein the viewpoint information specifies whether viewpoints of the video frames correspond to the left viewpoint or the right viewpoint; and a transmitter for transmitting the broadcast signal.
28 . The apparatus of claim 27 , wherein the viewpoint information is included in a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message in the broadcast signal.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
