Abstract
A display apparatus having a plurality of display surfaces controlled by a controller, the display apparatus having a mounting substrate for mounting the plurality of display surfaces. The mounting structure having a conductor layer for providing electrical connections to the plurality of display surfaces. The display apparatus may further have at least one display surface sufficiently flexible to have a curvature, wherein the curvature produces a space between the at least one display surface and the mounting structure to house the controller.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for producing a display apparatus having a plurality of display surfaces controlled by a controller, the method comprising:
providing a mounting surface with predetermined positions for mounting the plurality of display surfaces; producing a conductive interconnect layer having a plurality of traces configured to connected the plurality of display surfaces to the controller; mounting at least one display surface to the mounting surface, the at least one display surface being sufficiently flexible to have a curvature such that the curvature produces a space between the at least one display surface and the mounting surface; and placing the controller in the space between the at least one display surface and the mounting surface.
2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising providing an insulator layer to insulate the interconnect layer from the at least one display surface.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the producing the conductive interconnect layer step further comprising etching the interconnect layer to produce conductive traces.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mounting step further comprising connecting mounting surface and the plurality of display surfaces using a connector.
5 . The method of claim 4 , the producing the conductive interconnect layer step further comprising using a laser to produce conductive traces.
6 . A mounting structure for mounting a plurality of display surfaces controlled by a controller, the structure comprising:
an insulator layer with through holes matching the placements of the plurality of display surface; and a conductive interconnect layer configured to connect the plurality of display surfaces to the controller, the interconnect layer having plurality of traces extending from the controller to the through holes on the insulator layer.
7 . The mounting structure of claim 6 , wherein the conductive interconnect layer further comprising pads for connecting the conductive traces to the plurality of display surfaces.
8 . A display apparatus having a plurality of display surfaces controlled by a controller, the display apparatus comprising:
a mounting substrate for mounting the plurality of display surfaces, the mounting structure having a conductor layer for providing electrical connections to the plurality of display surfaces; and at least one display surface sufficiently flexible to have a curvature, wherein the curvature produces a space between the at least one display surface and the mounting structure to house the controller.
9 . The display apparatus of claim 8 wherein the mounting structure is flexible.
10 . The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the mounting structure further comprising an insulator layer positioned between the display surfaces and the conductor layer.
11 . The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the at least one display surface comprises a flexible front electrode.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
