Abstract

A personal care composition comprising: at least a first phase and a second phase wherein said first phase comprises a) an aqueous structured surfactant phase comprising STnS where n is between about 0 and about 2.5; b); c) a structuring system comprising i. optionally, a non-ionic emulsifier; ii. optionally, from about 0.05% to about 5%, by weight of said personal care composition, of an associative polymer; iii. an electrolyte; and said second phase comprises a) a benefit phase comprising from 1% to about 50%, by weight of said personal care composition, of a hydrophobic benefit agent.

1 . A personal care composition comprising:
 a) an aqueous structured surfactant phase comprising from about 5% to about 20%, by weight of said personal care composition, of STnS where n is between about 0.5 and about 2.7; and   an amphoteric surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, or a combination thereof; wherein the aqueous structured surfactant phase has at least a 70% lamellar structure;   b) a benefit phase comprising   from 0.1% to about 50%, by weight of said personal care composition, of a benefit agent.   
     
     
         2 . The personal care composition of  claim 1 , wherein said personal care composition comprises from about 0.05% to about 0.5%, by weight of said personal care composition, of an associative polymer. 
     
     
         3 . The personal care composition of  claim 2 , wherein said associative polymer comprises polyacrylates, hydrophobic ally modified polysaccharides, hydrophobically modified urethanes, or a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         4 . The personal care composition of  claim 3 , wherein said associative polymer comprises an alkyl acrylate polymer.

The personal care composition of  claim 1 , wherein said aqueous structured surfactant phase further comprises a nonionic emulsifier comprising glyceryl monohydroxystearate, isosteareth-2, trideceth-2, trideceth-3, hydroxystearic acid, propylene glycol stearate, PEG-2 stearate, sorbitan monostearate, glyceryl laurate, laureth-2, cocamide monoethanolamine, lauramide monoethanolamine, or a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         8 . The personal care composition of  claim 1 , wherein said aqueous structured surfactant phase further comprises a nonionic emulsifier comprising trideceth-2, trideceth-3, or a combination thereof. 
     
     
         9 . The personal care composition of  claim 1 , wherein said aqueous structured surfactant phase further comprises an electrolyte comprising an anion selected from the group consisting of phosphate, chloride, sulfate, citrate, and mixtures thereof; and a cation selected from the group consisting of sodium, ammonium, potassium, magnesium, and mixtures thereof.

         11 . The personal care composition of  claim 9 , wherein said personal care composition comprises from about 0.5 to about 5%, by weight of said personal care composition, of the electrolyte.

The personal care composition of  claim 1 , wherein said benefit agent is selected from the group consisting of petrolatum; lanolin; natural waxes; synthetic waxes; lanolin; derivatives of lanolin; volatile organosiloxanes; non-volatile organosiloxanes; lanolin oil; lanolin esters; natural triglycerides; synthetic triglycerides; and combinations thereof.

 a) an aqueous structured surfactant phase comprising from about 5% to about 20%, by weight of said personal care composition, of STnS where n is between about 1.1 and about 2.5; and an amphoteric surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, or a combination thereof; wherein the aqueous structured surfactant phase has an initial Structured Domain Volume Ratio of about 75% or more by volume of aqueous structured surfactant phase; and   b) a benefit phase comprising from 0.1% to about 50%, by weight of said personal care composition, of a benefit agent having a Vaughan Solubility Parameter of about 5 (cal/cm 3 ) 1/2  to about 15 (cal/cm 3 ) 1/2 .   
     
     
         64 . The personal care composition of  claim 63 , wherein the Diluted 50% Lamellar Phase volume of the structured aqueous phase is about 80% or less. 
     
     
         65 . The personal care composition of  claim 64 , wherein the composition is free of sodium lauryl sulfate. 
     
     
         66 . The personal care composition of  claim 64 , wherein the aqueous structured surfactant phase further comprises an associative polymer. 
     
     
         67 . A personal care composition, comprising:
 an aqueous structured lamellar surfactant phase comprising from about 5% to about 18%, by weight of the composition, of an anionic surfactant consisting essentially of STnS where n is about 1.1 to about 2.5; from about 2% to about 7%, by weight of the composition, of a cosurfactant comprising an amphoteric surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, or a combination thereof; a nonionic emulsifier; an associative polymer; and an electrolyte;   a benefit phase comprising from about 5% to about 30%, by weight of the composition, of a benefit agent with a Vaughan Solubility Parameter of about 5 to about 15.   
     
     
         68 . The personal care composition of  claim 67 , wherein the nonionic emulsifier comprises trideceth-2, trideceth-3, or a combination thereof.
