Abstract

One or more embodiments of techniques or systems for curriculum assessment are provided herein. One or more assessments can be generated. For example, an assessment can be generated based on one or more forms. In this way, assessments can be created in a structured manner and distributed accordingly. One or more of the assessments may be administered. After one or more students or test takers take the assessments, one or more of the assessments can be analyzed or aggregated. Analysis can include statistical analysis related to one or more similar, related, or associated assessments. In this manner, curriculum assessment can be provided, thereby enhancing teaching efficiency and productivity, etc.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A method for curriculum assessment, comprising:
determining one or more assessment parameters; selecting questions based on one or more assessment parameters; selecting formats for the questions of an assessment to be generated; selecting formats for the questions for dual administration, via electronically along with an associated paper component; generating the assessment based on the assessment parameters and the format, and the selected questions; printing, by a printing device, on at least one sheet of paper, at least a subset of the selected questions in the selected formats wherein the printed paper; scanning, by a scanning device, a the portion the response found on the sheet of paper, and capturing via other electronic means the electronically administered portion of the assessment, wherein means of capture include but are not limited to audio or video recording and word processing; grading the scanned assessee paper response, taking into account the steps in solving the selected questions in order to provide insight for possible commensurate credit; grading the electronically administered portion of the assessment; identifying and evaluating assessee response(s) based on the scanned assessee response(s) and electronic responses and scoring appropriately, the identifying and the evaluating, being implemented via a processing unit; wherein the determining, the selecting of the questions, the selecting of the format, the generating, the identifying and the evaluating, are implemented via a processing unit.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the electronically administered assessment may in lieu of or in addition to the scanned assessee response.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the question of the assessment is at least one of multiple choice, short answer, essay, or true/false.

4 . The method of claim 1 , comprising storing a portion of the assessment.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the assessment comprises an identifier.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the identifier is a quick response (QR) code or a bar code.

7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the identifier is indicative of the question of the corresponding assessment.

8 . The method of claim 1 , comprising grading the assessee response according to an answer key.

9 . A system for curriculum assessment, comprising:
a creation component configured to generate an assessment based on an assessment parameter; a printing device configured to print the assessment on a sheet of paper, wherein the assessment comprises an answer section for handwritten responses; a scanning device that scans assessee printed response associated with the assessment; additionally means of capturing electronic data for an electronically administered portion of the assessment, wherein means of capture include but are not limited to audio or video recording and word processing; an assessment component configured to associate a portion of the electronically administered portion of the assessment with the assessee printed response; an assessment component configured to grade both the electronically administered portion of the assessee response and the scanned assessee response wherein the scanned response is e to a corresponding electronically administered assessment, for the purpose of evaluating the assessee work taking into account the steps in solving the selected questions in order to provide insight for possible commensurate credit; and a reporting component configured to generate a report of the assessee response, wherein the creation component, the scanning device, the means of capturing electronic data, the assessment component, and the reporting component are implemented via at least one processing unit.

10 . The system of claim 9 , comprising a network component configured to receive the assessee response for the assessment.

11 . The system of claim 9 , comprising a capture component configured to capture an assessment image of the assessee response or a file associated with the assessee response for the assessment.

12 . The system of claim 9 , comprising a content database configured to store the question for the assessment.

13 . The system of claim 9 , comprising a storage component configured to store the assessment image captured from the assessee response.

14 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising computer-executable instructions, which when executed via a processing unit on a computer performs acts, comprising:
receiving assessment parameters; selecting questions based on at least one assessment parameter; selecting formats for the questions of an assessment to be generated; generating the assessment based on the assessment parameter and the format and the selected question; printing on a sheet of paper, at least a subset of the selected questions in the selected formats wherein the printed paper comprises a section for handwritten responses; scanning assessee responses associated to the printed portion of the assessment; capturing via other electronic means an electronically administered portion of the assessment, wherein means of capture include but are not limited to audio or video recording and word processing; selecting and associating questions of the assessment for dual administration to assessees, electronically in addition to a paper component, so the assessment can be generated allowing dual administration, electronically and on paper.

15 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the assessment comprises a plurality of registration marks.

16 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the assessment comprises an identifier.

17 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the identifier is a quick response (QR) code or a bar code.

         18 . The method of claim 1 , comprising:
capturing an image of the assessee to confirm the identity of the assessee associated with the assessment.

         19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , comprising:
capturing an image of the assessee to confirm the identity of the assessee associated with the assessment.

20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the identifying and evaluating the audio clip comprises comparing to the key audio files and annotating anomalies.

21 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the identifying and evaluating the audio clip comprises a selected one of presenting and playing back the audio clip for the grader to evaluate.

22 . The system of claim 9 , comprising an audio component configured to identify and evaluating the audio clip by comparing to the key audio files and annotating anomalies.

23 . The system of claim 9 , comprising an audio component configured to identify and evaluating the audio clip by a selected one of presenting and playing back the audio clip for the grader to evaluate.
