Systems and methods for contextual services across platforms based on selectively shared information
Abstract
A system may store a first merchant identifier in response to a registration of a first merchant and a user identifier in response to a registration of a user. The system may also store an access permission to control access by the first merchant to a first context. The access permission may be configured for retrieval by a query including at least one of the user identifier or the first merchant identifier. The system may return the first context in response to a first application programming interface (API) call and in response to the access permission authorizing access to the first context.

1 . A method, comprising:
storing, by a contextual services management system, a user identifier in response to a registration of a user; generating, by the contextual services management system, a session associated with the user identifier; storing, by the contextual services management system, an access permission to control access by a first merchant to a first context of the session, wherein the access permission is configured for retrieval by a query based on the user identifier, wherein the access permission is set by the user associated with the first context; and returning, by the contextual services management system, the first context in response to a first context request and in response to the access permission authorizing access to the first context.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, by the contextual services management system, a second request from the first merchant; and storing, by the contextual services management system, the first context in response to the second request.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first context request comprises an API call.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first context is returned to the first merchant that made the API call.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising comparing, by the contextual services management system, a first item from the first merchant to a second item from a second merchant.
6 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
receiving, by the contextual services management system, a second API call from the first merchant for the first context in response to a user device entering a location of the first merchant; verifying, by the contextual services management system, that the access permission authorizes the first merchant to access the first context; and returning, by the contextual services management system, the first context in response to the second API call.
7 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
receiving, by the contextual services management system, a second API call from the first merchant to store the first context in response to a user interaction at a location of the first merchant; verifying, by the contextual services management system, that the access permission authorizes the first merchant to store the first context; and storing, by the contextual services management system, the first context in response to the second API call.
8 . A computer-based system, comprising:
a processor; a tangible, non-transitory memory configured to communicate with the processor, the tangible, non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising: storing, by the processor, a user identifier in response to a registration of a user; generating, by the processor, a session associated with the user identifier; storing, by the processor, an access permission to control access by a first merchant to a first context of the session, wherein the access permission is configured for retrieval by a query based on the user identifier, wherein the access permission is set by the user associated with the first context; and returning, by the processor, the first context in response to a first context request and in response to the access permission authorizing access to the first context.
9 . The computer-based system of claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processor, a second request from the first merchant; and storing, by the processor, the first context in response to the second request.
10 . The computer-based system of claim 8 , wherein the first context request comprises an API call.
11 . The computer-based system of claim 10 , wherein the first context is returned to the first merchant that made the API call.
12 . The computer-based system of claim 11 , further comprising comparing, by the processor, a first item from the first merchant to a second item from a second merchant.
13 . The computer-based system of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processor, a second API call from the first merchant for the first context in response to a user device entering a location of the first merchant; verifying, by the processor, that the access permission authorizes the first merchant to access the first context; and returning, by the processor, the first context in response to the second API call.
14 . The computer-based system of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processor, a second API call from the first merchant to store the first context in response to a user interaction at a location of the first merchant; verifying, by the processor, that the access permission authorizes the first merchant to store the first context; and storing, by the processor, the first context in response to the second API call.
15 . An article of manufacture including a non-transitory, tangible computer readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
storing, by the processor, a user identifier in response to a registration of a user; generating, by the processor, a session associated with the user identifier; storing, by the processor, an access permission to control access by a first merchant to a first context of the session, wherein the access permission is configured for retrieval by a query based on the user identifier, wherein the access permission is set by the user associated with the first context; and returning, by the processor, the first context in response to a first context request and in response to the access permission authorizing access to the first context.
16 . The article of claim 15 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processor, a second request from the first merchant; and storing, by the processor, the first context in response to the second request.
17 . The article of claim 15 , wherein the first context request comprises an API call.
18 . The article of claim 17 , wherein the first context is returned to the first merchant that made the API call.
19 . The article of claim 17 , further comprising:
receiving, by the processor, a second API call from the first merchant to store the first context in response to a user interaction at a location of the first merchant; verifying, by the processor, that the access permission authorizes the first merchant to store the first context; and storing, by the processor, the first context in response to the second API call.
20 . The article of claim 17 , further comprising:
