Abstract

In one embodiment a method includes storing in non-volatile memory a library of equipment configuration code files, each equipment configuration code file including configuration code for configuration and control of a work vehicle, for configuration and control of an attachment to be carried or towed by the work vehicle, or for combined configuration and control of both the work vehicle and the attachment in combination, receiving an altered version of at least one equipment configuration code file, the altered version including OEM data provided by or altered by an original equipment manufacturer of the work vehicle or the attachment, dealer or distributor data provided by or altered by a dealer or distributor of the work vehicle or the attachment, and user data provided by or altered by a user of the work vehicle or attachment, and storing the altered version in the non-volatile memory of the library.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method, comprising:
storing in non-volatile memory a library of equipment configuration code files, each equipment configuration code file comprising configuration code for configuration and control of a work vehicle, for configuration and control of an attachment to be carried or towed by the work vehicle, or for combined configuration and control of both the work vehicle and the attachment in combination; receiving an altered version of at least one equipment configuration code file, the altered version comprising OEM data provided by or altered by an original equipment manufacturer of the work vehicle or the attachment, dealer or distributor data provided by or altered by a dealer or distributor of the work vehicle or the attachment, and user data provided by or altered by a user of the work vehicle or attachment; and storing the altered version in the non-volatile memory of the library.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the altered version is provided by the dealer or distributor, and access to the altered version is controlled by the dealer or distributor.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the altered version is provided by the user, and access to the altered version is controlled by the user.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the library is maintained by the original equipment manufacturer.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the library comprises altered versions for multiple original equipment manufacturers, multiple dealers or distributors, and multiple users.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the library is maintained by a third party that is not one of the original equipment manufacturers or one of the dealers or distributors or one of the users.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the altered version comprises data obtained during actual use of the work vehicle, the attachment, or both in the actual work setting.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the altered version is altered to adapt configuration and control of the work vehicle, the attachment, or both for a specific user, a vehicle-attachment combination, a season, an agricultural task, a geographic location, or a combination thereof.

         9 . A system comprising:
a non-volatile memory storing a library of equipment configuration code files, each equipment configuration code file comprising configuration code for configuration and control of a work vehicle, for configuration and control of an attachment to be carried or towed by the work vehicle, or for combined configuration and control of both the work vehicle and the attachment in combination, the library further storing an altered version of at least one equipment configuration code file, the altered version comprising OEM data provided by or altered by an original equipment manufacturer of the work vehicle or the attachment, dealer or distributor data provided by or altered by a dealer or distributor of the work vehicle or the attachment, and user data provided by or altered by a user of the work vehicle or attachment; and means for transmitting at least one of the equipment configuration code files and the altered version to at least one of the original equipment manufacturer, the dealer or distributor, and the user for storage on and use by the work vehicle or the attachment or both for configuration and control of the work vehicle or the attachment or both.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the altered version is provided by the dealer or distributor, and access to the altered version is controlled by the dealer or distributor.

11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the altered version is provided by the user, and access to the altered version is controlled by the user.

12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the library is maintained by the original equipment manufacturer.

13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the library comprises altered versions for multiple original equipment manufacturers, multiple dealers or distributors, and multiple users.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the library is maintained by a third party that is not one of the original equipment manufacturers or one of the dealers or distributors or one of the users.

15 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the altered version comprises data obtained during actual use of the work vehicle, the attachment, or both in the actual work setting.

16 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the altered version is altered to adapt configuration and control of the work vehicle, the attachment, or both for a specific user, a vehicle-attachment combination, a season, an agricultural task, a geographic location, or a combination thereof.

         17 . A non-volatile machine-readable medium storing electronic data comprising:
a library of equipment configuration code files, each equipment configuration code file comprising configuration code for configuration and control of a work vehicle, for configuration and control of an attachment to be carried or towed by the work vehicle, or for combined configuration and control of both the work vehicle and the attachment in combination, the library further storing an altered version of at least one equipment configuration code file, the altered version comprising OEM data provided by or altered by an original equipment manufacturer of the work vehicle or the attachment, dealer or distributor data provided by or altered by a dealer or distributor of the work vehicle or the attachment, and user data provided by or altered by a user of the work vehicle or attachment.

18 . The non-volatile machine-readable medium of claim 17 , and wherein the library comprises altered versions for multiple original equipment manufacturers, multiple dealers or distributors, and multiple users.

19 . The non-volatile machine-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the library is maintained by a third party that is not one of the original equipment manufacturers or one of the dealers or distributors or one of the users.

20 . The non-volatile machine-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the altered version comprises data obtained during actual use of the work vehicle, the attachment, or both in the actual work setting.
