Abstract

An AV device including a first signal transmitter configured to output a video signal and a first audio signal corresponding to the video signal to a display device; a first signal receiver configured to receive a feedback signal of the first audio signal from the display device; a second signal transmitter configured to output a second audio signal corresponding to the video signal; and a controller configured to determine a processing delay time of the display device by comparing the first audio signal and the feedback signal, and control the second signal transmitter to delay the output of the second audio signal based on the determined processing delay time.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A display device comprising:
at least one signal interface configured to connect with an audio/video (AV) device; a video signal processor; a display: a processor configured:
to control the at least one signal interface to receive a video signal and a first audio signal from the AV device,
to control the video signal processor to process the received video signal to display an image on the display based on the processed video signal, and
to control the at least one signal interface to output a feedback signal of the first audio signal to the AV device, the feedback signal of the first audio signal being synchronized with the processed video signal, so that the AV device processes a second audio signal to be compensated for a processing delay time based on the feedback signal of the first audio signal.

2 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to control the feedback signal of the first audio signal to be synchronized with the video signal based on predetermined index information included in the video signal and first audio signal.

3 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the first audio signal comprises a mute section to allow the processing delay time to be determined based on a time difference between the mute section of the first audio signal and the mute section of the feedback signal.

4 . The display device according to claim 3 , wherein the mute section is periodically provided in the first audio signal.

5 . The display device according to claim 3 , wherein the mute section comprised in the first audio signal has a predetermined pattern.

6 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one signal interface comprises:
a first signal interface to receive the video signal and the first audio signal from the AV device; and a second signal interface to output the feedback signal of the first audio signal to the AV device.

7 . A method of controlling a display device, the method comprising:
receiving a video signal and a first audio signal from an audio/video (AV) device; processing the received video signal to display an image based on the processed video signal; outputting a feedback signal of the first audio signal to the AV device, the feedback signal of the first audio signal being synchronized with the processed video signal, so that the AV device processes a second audio signal to be compensated for a processing delay time based on the feedback signal of the first audio signal.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , further comprising controlling the feedback signal of the first audio signal to be synchronized with the video signal based on predetermined index information included in the video signal and first audio signal.

9 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the first audio signal comprises a mute section to allow the processing delay time to be determined based on a time difference between the mute section of the first audio signal and the mute section of the feedback signal.

10 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein the mute section is periodically provided in the first audio signal.

11 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein the mute section comprised in the first audio signal has a pattern.

12 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the video signal and the first audio signal are received through a first signal interface, and the feedback signal of the first audio signal is output through a second signal interface.
