Method and system for establishing telecommunications links
Abstract
An apparatus and a method for establishing a telecommunications link controlled by a control program with a second communications terminal according to which a CTI service is made available to a first communications terminal by a CTI server in a CTI domain allocated to the CTI server and the second communications terminal is located outside the CTI domain and by way of a proxy situated within the CTI domain that is linked to the CTI server. The control program is linkable to the CTI server by way of an intermediate functional unit that can signal to the control program that the second communications terminal instead of the proxy is linked into the established telecommunications link as the telecommunications terminal. The intermediate functional unit can instruct the CTI server to carry out the CTI service on the proxy in accordance with the control program.

11 . A method for establishing a terminal telecommunication connection controlled by a control program with a second communication terminal, wherein a computer-telephony integration (“CTI”) service is made available to a first communication terminal by a CTI server in a CTI domain that is assigned to said CTI server, the first communication terminal being within the CTI domain and the second communication terminal being outside of the CTI domain and being connected to the CTI server via a proxy located within the CTI domain, the method comprising:
connecting the control program to the CTI server via an intermediate functional unit;
the intermediate functional unit signaling to the control program that the second communication terminal is a communication terminal connected to the terminal telecommunication connection instead of the proxy;
instructing the CTI server, through the intermediate functional unit, that the CTI server is to carry out the CTI service.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising,
signaling, through the intermediate functional unit, to the control program, a virtual communication terminal inside the CTI domain as a third communication terminal that is connected in the established telecommunication connection in place of the proxy.
13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
establishing a first telecommunication connection between the first communication terminal and the proxy, wherein the first telecommunication connection signals to the control program as a first CTI service.
14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
specifying a second telecommunication connection in place of the first telecommunication connection, wherein the second telecommunication connection is located between the first communication terminal and the second communication terminal.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the second telecommunication connection corresponds to a second CTI service, wherein the CTI service in the control program is the first CTI service.
16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the CTI server is a CTI server of a central office or a central device and the CTI server is configured to implement the CTI service automatically with a respective valid proxy without utilizing knowledge of a respective dynamically changeable proxy, and wherein the intermediate functional unit transfers data via an abstraction level with regard to the CTI server via the proxy to the control program.
17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein a change from the first telecommunication connection to the second telecommunication connection corresponds to a member of the group consisting of (i) a single-step transfer and (ii) a change from call monitoring to the communication terminal connection, wherein the CTI server defines a CTI domain, and wherein at least one of the communication terminals is located outside the CTI domain.
18 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having an executable computer program stored thereon that, when executed by a communication device having a processor that runs the computer program, establishes a telecommunication connection by carrying out the method of claim 11 .
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the control program is run by the CTI server or by a processor of a device associated with a central office.
20 . A communication apparatus for establishing a telecommunication connection, comprising:
a control device configured to connect a control program to a CTI server via an intermediate functional unit such that the intermediate functional unit signals to the control program that a second communication terminal is a communication terminal connected to a terminal telecommunication connection instead of a proxy so that the proxy connected to a first communication terminal via the terminal telecommunication connection is replaced by the second communication terminal in the terminal telecommunication connection and that the CTI server is instructable through the intermediate functional unit to carry out a CTI service.
21 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the intermediate functional unit is a server.
22 . The method of claim 11 , comprising:
the intermediate functional unit accepting the CTI service while forgoing dynamic proxy administration.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the proxy is not changed for the CTI service.
24 . The method of claim 11 , comprising:
the CTI server providing queue and call distribution; and wherein the CTI server and the first communication terminal are within a network.
25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the terminal telecommunication connection is a connection between the first communication terminal and the second communication terminal.
26 . The method of claim 24 , comprising:
a gateway receiving a call from the second communication terminal prior to the connecting of the second communication terminal located outside the CTI domain to the CTI server via the proxy located inside the CTI domain.
27 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the CTI service is call monitoring such that a monitor point is set for the second communication terminal.
28 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the intermediate functional unit is a server.
29 . The method of claim 28 , comprising:
the intermediate functional unit accepting the CTI service while forgoing dynamic proxy administration.
30 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the control program is run by a private branch exchange (PBX) or a softswitch device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
