Display control apparatus, display control method, and storage medium

Abstract

An apparatus includes: a receiving unit configured to receive an input operation from a user performed on an accepting unit displayed on a display unit; a determination unit configured to determine whether or not detailed information set in the accepting unit is displayed on the display unit in accordance with the input operation received by the receiving unit, and at least one of a display state of the accepting unit and an input area of the input operation in the accepting unit; and a display control unit configured to control a display of the accepting unit displayed on the display unit in accordance with a determination result provided by the determination unit.

1 . An apparatus comprising:
 one or more processors operating to:   obtain information based on an input operation of a user performed on a first accepting item and a second accepting item displayed on a display unit, a first character string is set in the first accepting item and a second character string is set in the second accepting item; and   control a display on the display unit,   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the first accepting item in a state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, a display of the first character string is changed from the state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, to a state where the entire first character string is to be displayed, and   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the second accepting item in a state where the entire second character string is displayed, a predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is executed.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is different from a process for displaying the entire second character string. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein, on the display unit, the entire first character string is displayed by a tooltip component.   
     
     
         4 . The apparatus according to  claim 3 ,
 wherein the tooltip component includes an execute button in order to perform a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item.   
     
     
         5 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first character string describes information on a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item, and the second character string describes information on a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item.   
     
     
         6 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the one or more processors further operate to determine display states of the first character string and the second character string.   
     
     
         7 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein, in a case where a plurality of times of input operations are performed on the first accepting item in a state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item is executed.   
     
     
         8 . The apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item is different from a process for displaying the entire first character string. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the display unit is a touch panel.   
     
     
         10 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item and a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is a downloading function. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item and a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is any of a printing function, a scanning function and a fax function. 
     
     
         12 . A method performed by at least one processor, the method comprising:
 obtaining information based on an input operation of a user performed on a first accepting item and a second accepting item displayed on a display unit, a first character string is set in the first accepting item and a second character string is set in the second accepting item; and   controlling a display on the display unit,   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the first accepting item in a state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, a display of the first character string is changed from the state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, to a state where the entire first character string is to be displayed, and   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the second accepting item in a state where the entire second character string is displayed, a predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is executed.   
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is different from a process for displaying the entire second character string. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein, on the display unit, the entire first character string is displayed by a tooltip component.   
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 14 ,
 wherein the tooltip component includes an execute button in order to perform a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item.   
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein the first character string describes information on a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item, and the second character string describes information on a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item.   
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 12 , further comprising:
 determining display states of the first character string and the second character string.   
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein, in a case where a plurality of times of input operations are performed on the first accepting item in a state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item is executed.   
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 18 , wherein the predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item is different from a process for displaying the entire first character string. 
     
     
         20 . The method according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein the display unit is a touch panel.   
     
     
         21 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein at least one of a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item and a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is a downloading function. 
     
     
         22 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein at least one of a function to be executed via a predetermined process assigned to the first accepting item and a function to be executed via the predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is any of a printing function, a scanning function and a fax function. 
     
     
         23 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method comprising:
 obtaining information based on an input operation of a user performed on a first accepting item and a second accepting item displayed on a display unit, a first character string is set in the first accepting item and a second character string is set in the second accepting item; and   controlling a display on the display unit,   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the first accepting item in a state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, a display of the first character string is changed from the state where the first character string is displayed with a part of the character string omitted, to a state where the entire first character string is to be displayed, and   wherein, in accordance with an input operation on the second accepting item in a state where the entire second character string is displayed, a predetermined process assigned to the second accepting item is executed.
