- 26 . (canceled)

. A method of treating cancer, an autoimmune disease, a viral disease, a hypercoagulation disorder, sepsis, or a vaso-occlusive crisis in a subject comprising administering to said subject an isolated polypeptide comprising a gamma-carboxyglutamic-acid (Gla) domain and lacking a protease or hormone-binding domain.

. (canceled)

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating cancer, further comprising treating said subject with a second cancer therapy.

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the autoimmune disease, further comprising treating said subject with a second autoimmune disease therapy.

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the viral disease, further comprising treating said subject with a second anti-viral therapy.

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the hypercoagulation disorder, further comprising treating said subject with a second anti-coagulant.

. A method of modulating clotting in a subject comprising administering to said subject an isolated polypeptide comprising a gamma-carboxyglutamic-acid (Gla) domain and lacking a protease or hormone-binding domain.

. The method claim 41 , further comprising administering to said subject a clotting factor.

. (canceled)

. (canceled)

. A method treating a disorder characterized by pathologic expression of phosphatidylserine on the surface of a cell comprising administering to said subject an isolated polypeptide comprising a gamma-carboxyglutamic-acid (Gla) domain and lacking a protease or hormone-binding domain.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating cancer.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the autoimmune disease.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the viral disease.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the hypercoagulation disorder.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating sepsis.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein said method comprises treating the vaso-occlusive crisis, and wherein the subject is a sickle cell subject.
