Abstract
A hair care appliance comprising a body, a fluid flow path extending through the body from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet and a PCB extending about the fluid flow path. The PCB may be annular. The PCB may be isolated from the fluid flow path. The PCB may comprise a first layer and a second layer. The first layer may extend substantially continuously about the fluid flow path and the second layer may extend partially about the fluid flow path. The second layer may be adjacent the first layer and may be downstream of the first layer. The body may comprise a duct and the fluid flow path extends through the duct. The PCB may extend about the duct. The body may comprise a primary fluid flow path extending about the duct which may be in fluid communication with the PCB.

A hair care appliance comprising a body having an outer wall and a duct extending within the outer wall, a first fluid flow path extending through the duct from a fluid inlet into the body to a fluid outlet, and a printed circuit board (PCB) extending radially around an external periphery of the first fluid flow path, wherein the first fluid flow path extends through the duct, and wherein the body comprises a primary fluid flow path extending between the outer wall and the duct.
2 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the PCB is annular.
3 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the PCB is isolated from the first fluid flow path.
4 . The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the primary fluid flow path is in fluid communication with the PCB.
5 . The appliance of claim 4 , wherein the body comprises a heater and the heater extends at least partially around and long the duct.
6 . The appliance of claim 5 , wherein the heater is downstream of the PCB.
7 . The appliance of claim 6 , comprising a thermal barrier located fluidly between the PCB and the heater.
8 . The appliance of claim 1 , comprising a handle having a first end that is connected to the body.
9 . The appliance of claim 8 , wherein the handle comprises a fan unit for drawing fluid into the primary fluid flow path.
10 . The appliance of claim 9 , wherein the fan unit is upstream of the PCB.
11 . A hair care appliance comprising a body having an outer wall and a duct extending within the outer wall, a handle, a first fluid flow path extending through the duct from a first fluid inlet to a first fluid outlet, and a PCB extending within a primary fluid flow path that extends between the outer wall and the duct, wherein a first end of the handle is connected to the body, and the handle comprises a fan unit for drawing fluid into the primary fluid flow path.
12 . The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the handle comprises a second end distal to the first end, the second end comprises a primary fluid inlet, and the primary fluid flow path extends along the handle and into the body to a primary fluid outlet.

A hair care appliance comprising a body having an outer wall and a duct extending within the outer wall, a handle, a first fluid flow path extending through the duct from a first fluid inlet to a first fluid outlet, and a PCB extending about the first fluid flow path, wherein the handle comprises a fan unit for drawing fluid into the primary fluid flow path, a first end of the handle is connected to the body, the handle comprises a second end that is distal to the first end, the second end of the handle comprises a primary fluid inlet, and the primary fluid flow path extends along the handle and into the body between the outer wall and the duct to a primary fluid outlet.
14 . The appliance of claim 13 , wherein the primary fluid flow path is non-linear.
15 . The appliance of claim 13 , wherein within the handle the primary fluid flow path is circular.
16 . The appliance of claim 13 , wherein within the body the primary fluid flow path is annular.
17 . The appliance of claim 16 , wherein where the primary fluid flow path enters the body a flow plate is provided.
18 . The appliance of claim 17 , wherein the flow plate is configured to deflect flow within the primary fluid flow path around the duct from a circular flow to an annular flow.
19 . The appliance of claim 17 , wherein the flow plate is configured to deflect flow within the primary fluid flow path from a first direction of flow within the handle to a second direction of flow within the body.
20 . A hair care appliance comprising a body having an outer wall and a duct extending within the outer wall, a first fluid flow path extending through the duct from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet, a PCB extending radially around an external periphery of the duct, and a handle, wherein a first end of the handle is connected to the body, the handle comprises a fan unit for drawing fluid into the primary fluid flow path, and the fan unit is upstream of the PCB.
21 . The appliance of claim 20 , wherein the primary fluid flow path is non-linear.
22 . The appliance of claim 20 , wherein within the handle the primary fluid flow path is circular.
23 . The appliance of claim 20 , wherein within the body the primary fluid flow path is annular.
24 . The appliance of claim 21 , wherein where the primary fluid flow path enters the body a flow plate is provided.
25 . The appliance of claim 24 , wherein the flow plate is configured to deflect flow within the primary fluid flow path around the duct from a circular to an annular flow.
