Abstract

An apparatus and a method for recognizing bio-data in an electronic device are provided. The method includes detecting an input via a sensor module, outputting guide information for bio-data recognition corresponding to the detected input, and detecting bio-data by using a bio-data detecting module.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of operating an electronic device, the method comprising:
 detecting a biometric input of a user;   in response to the detecting the biometric input of the user, displaying a first guide message for recognizing bio-data corresponding to the biometric input of the user;   detecting motion information of the user based on the biometric input of the user; and   displaying, based on the detected information, a second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the motion information comprises at least one of a distance between the user and the electronic device, or an angle between the user and the electronic device. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 determining whether the distance between the user and the electronic device is within a first preset range;   if the distance between the user and the electronic device is within the first preset range, displaying the second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized; and   if the distance between the user and the electronic device is exceeds the first preset range, displaying a third guide message for requesting to move at least one of a location of the user, a posture of the user, a location of the electronic device, or an angle of the electronic device.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 determining whether the angle between the user and the electronic device is within a second preset range;   if the angle between the user and the electronic device is within the second preset range, displaying the second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized; and   if the angle between the user and the electronic device is exceeds the second preset range, displaying a third guide message for requesting to move at least one of a location of the user, a posture of the user, a location of the electronic device, or an angle of the electronic device.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 acquiring the bio-data regarding the user after the second guide message is displayed.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the detecting of the biometric input of the user comprises detecting at least one bio-data among a fingerprint, an iris, a voice, a retina, or a blood vessel. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 displaying at least part of the user with the first guide message or the second guide message.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 displaying at least part of the user with at least one of the first guide message, the second guide message, or the third guide message.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 displaying at least part of the user with at least one of the first guide message, the second guide message, or the third guide message.   
     
     
         10 . An electronic device comprising:
 at least one sensor;   a display; and   at least one processor configured to:
 control the at least one sensor to detect a biometric input of a user by the sensor; 
 in response to detecting the biometric input of the user, control the display to display a first guide message for recognizing bio-data corresponding to the biometric input of the user; 
 control the at least one sensor to detect motion information of the user based on the biometric input of the user; and 
 control the display to display, based on the detected information, a second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized. 
   
     
     
         11 . The electronic device of  claim 10 , wherein the motion information comprises at least one of a distance between the user and the electronic device, or an angle between the user and the electronic device. 
     
     
         12 . The electronic device of  claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
 determine whether the distance between the user and the electronic device is within a first preset range;   if the distance between the user and the electronic device is within the first preset range, control the display to display the second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized; and   if the distance between the user and the electronic device is exceeds the first preset range, control the display to display a third guide message for requesting to move at least one of a location of the user, a posture of the user, a location of the electronic device, or an angle of the electronic device.   
     
     
         13 . The electronic device of  claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
 determine whether the angle between the user and the electronic device is within a second preset range;   if the angle between the user and the electronic device is within the second preset range, control the display to display the second guide message indicating that the bio-data regarding the user is being recognized; and   if the angle between the user and the electronic device is exceeds the second preset range, control the display to display a third guide message for requesting to move at least one of a location of the user, a posture of the user, a location of the electronic device, or an angle of the electronic device.   
     
     
         14 . The electronic device of  claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to acquire the bio-data regarding the user after the second guide message is displayed. 
     
     
         15 . The electronic device of  claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to detect at least one bio-data among a fingerprint, an iris, a voice, a retina, or a blood vessel. 
     
     
         16 . The electronic device of  claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to control to display to display at least part of the user with the first guide message or the second guide message. 
     
     
         17 . The electronic device of  claim 12 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to control to display to display at least part of the user with at least one of the first guide message, the second guide message, or the third guide message. 
     
     
         18 . The electronic device of  claim 13 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to control to display to display at least part of the user with at least one of the first guide message, the second guide message, or the third guide message. 
     
     
         19 . The electronic device of  claim 10 , wherein the at least one sensor comprises at least one of a gyro sensor, an acceleration sensor, an image sensor, a proximity sensor, or a grip sensor.
