Detecting and transmitting a redeemable document
Abstract
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for detecting documents within content received by a computing device. A computing device can receive content through an application. The received content is scanned to determine if it includes a file type indicating that it includes a redeemable document. A notification is presented to the user when a document has been detected within the content including a button enabling rendering of the document on the computing device. The rendered document can include a button to transmit the document to secondary computing devices associated with the user. A user profile associated with the user can include data indicating secondary computing devices associated with the user. The user profile can be accessed to retrieve the data and, if the button is selected, the document can be transmitted to the secondary computing devices from which the user can render the document.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A method comprising:
storing a redeemable document in a redeemable document management application, the redeemable document being associated with a location; and when a device running the redeemable document management application detects that it is proximate to the location associated with the redeemable document, automatically displaying at least a portion of the redeemable document on a lock screen of the device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least a portion of the redeemable document is a notification pertaining to the redeemable document.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the lock screen includes a graphical interface displayed when the device is in a locked state where a password or code is required to access functions of the device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the redeemable document is a transportation boarding pass permitting a user of the device to board a transportation vehicle, the location to which the transportation boarding pass is associated is a transportation hub from which the transportation vehicle departs.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the at least a portion of the redeemable document is a redeemable document notification identifying at least one of a departure time, a gate number, a transportation provider name.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least a portion of the redeemable document is a redeemable document notification that indications how many redeemable documents are stored on the device, wherein the redeemable documents are transportation boarding passes for the same trip.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least a portion of the redeemable document is selectable, and the method comprises:
receiving a input selecting the at least a portion of the redeemable document; in response to receiving the input, displaying the redeemable document.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein in response to receiving the input and prior to the displaying the redeemable document the method further comprises:
presenting a prompt for an unlock code or password for the device.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the redeemable document is a loyalty card, and the displayed at least a portion of the redeemable document includes an account balance.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the redeemable document is a loyalty card redeemable at a plurality of locations, and the displayed at least a portion of the redeemable document displays the nearest location of the plurality of locations that the loyalty card can be redeemed.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displayed at least a portion of the redeemable document includes updated information pertaining to the redeemable document.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the updated information pertaining to the redeemable document are highlighted to draw a user's attention to the changed information.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the detecting by the device that it is proximate to the location comprises:
notifying a location service by redeemable document management application, of the location; and determining, by the location service running in the background of the device, that the device is proximate to the location.
14 . The method of claim 1 , comprising:
rendering the redeemable document a representation of the redeemable document in the redeemable document management application by combining a predefined redeemable document template that is associated with a redeemable document type template identifier with redeemable document information.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon, when executed, the instructions effective to cause a computing system to:
store a redeemable document in a redeemable document management application, the redeemable document being associated with a location; and detect, by a device running the redeemable document management application, that it is proximate to the location associated with the redeemable document, automatically displaying at least a portion of the redeemable document on a lock screen of the device, wherein the lock screen includes a graphical interface displayed when the device is in a locked state where a password or code is required to access functions of the device.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the at least a portion of the redeemable document is selectable, and the instructions effective to cause the computing system to:
receive a input selecting the at least a portion of the redeemable document; in response to receiving the input, display the redeemable document.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 16 , wherein in response to receiving the input and prior to the display of the redeemable document the instructions effective to further cause the computing system to:
present a prompt for an unlock code or password for the device.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 16 , the instructions effective to cause the computing system to:
notify a location service by redeemable document management application, of the location; and determine, by the location service running in the background of the device, that the device is proximate to the location.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 16 , the instructions effective to cause the computing system to:
receive updated information pertaining to the redeemable document; and display the updated information in the at least the portion of the redeemable document on the lock screen.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
