Enhanced Management of a Web Conferencing Server

Abstract

A method for enhanced management of a web conference server includes evaluation a web conference server to ascertain resources of the web conference server. The resources of the web conferencing server are partitioned into rooms, each room having an allocated portion of the resources of the web conferencing server and at least one room providing different capabilities from other rooms hosted on the web conferencing server. Access to the rooms is provided based on at least one user criterion.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for managing communication in a teleconference, the method comprising:
 providing access to a room based on a user criterion;   providing a first stream comprising audio from the room;   providing a second stream comprising supplemental audio, wherein the supplemental audio including automated audible identification of a speaker, wherein the speaker's identity is verified when providing access to the conference room.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first stream is an audio-only stream. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the supplemental audio comprises audible identification of page number in an accompanying presentation when the speaker changes pages. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein verification of the speaker's identity is performed using the user criterion used to provide access to the room. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein verification of the speaker's identify is performed using voice recognition. 
     
     
         6 . A web conferencing server comprising:
 a processor;   a non-volatile memory; and   partitions within the web conferencing server forming a plurality of web conference rooms, wherein access to a web conference room is provided by voice recognitionand the web conferencing server provides a first and a second audio feed for the web conference room and the second audio feed contains supplemental audio identifiers not found in the first audio feed, including audible identification of the speaker based on voice recognition used to access the conference room.   
     
     
         7 . The server of  claim 6 , wherein the supplemental audio identifiers include page numbers for accompanying material. 
     
     
         8 . The server of  claim 6 , wherein the first audio feed is an audio only feed. 
     
     
         9 . The server of  claim 6 , further comprising providing a video teed fir the web-conference room. 
     
     
         10 . The server of  claim 9 , wherein the provided feed depends on a user criterion provided to access the web conference room. 
     
     
         11 . A web conferencing server comprising:
 a processor;   a non-volatile memory; and   partitions of capabilities within the web conferencing server forming a plurality of web conferencing rooms, wherein access to the conference room is provided after verifying the identity of an accessing individual and the system identifies the individual using a supplemental channel when the individual speaks.   
     
     
         12 . The server of  claim 11 , further comprising verifying the individual's position within an organization when verifying the identity of the accessing individual. 
     
     
         13 . The server of  claim 11 , wherein the conference room provides an audio-only stream and a video stream. 
     
     
         14 . The server of  claim 11 , wherein the conference room provides a screenshot. 
     
     
         15 . The server of  claim 14 , wherein the screenshot is provided in response to a command from a facilitator.
