Mobile application for managing offer records

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and system for managing mobile offer records. The system may receive a query from a user including a shopping list comprising a plurality of items and a maximum price for a set of item descriptions of the shopping list. The system may identify a location of a mobile device. The system may obtain a plurality of offer records based on the location of the mobile device, the shopping list, and the maximum price. The system may normalize the plurality of offer records based on a value of the offer records. The system may rank the plurality of offer records based on the normalization.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for data management between a mobile device and another device, the method comprising:
 generating, by the mobile device, a shopping list module, wherein the shopping list module is configured for display by the mobile device and to receive data associated with a shopping list from the user;   receiving, by the mobile device, data associated with the shopping list from the user, wherein the data associated with the shopping list comprises a plurality of item descriptions;   generating, by the mobile device, a price negotiator module, wherein the price negotiator module is configured for display by the mobile device and to receive data associated with a maximum price for a set of item descriptions of the shopping list from the user;   receiving, by the mobile device, data associated with the maximum price for the set of item descriptions of the shopping list from the user;   identifying, by the mobile device, a location of the mobile device;   obtaining, by the mobile device, a plurality of offer records based on the location of the mobile device, the shopping list, and the maximum price, wherein the plurality of offer records include data defining at least one of a price for the set of item descriptions or a reduction in price for the set of item descriptions;   normalizing, by the mobile device, an offer record in the plurality of offer records, the normalizing comprising standardizing a value for the offer record and an item description;   ranking, by the mobile device, the normalized one or more offer records based on the value for the offer record corresponding to the item description; and   generating, by the mobile device, a discount module comprising the plurality of offer records and the ranking, wherein the discount module is configured for display on the mobile device.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein obtaining the plurality of offer records comprises:
 transmitting, by the mobile device, data associated with the location of the mobile device and the shopping list to a plurality of servers;   receiving, by the mobile device, data associated with the plurality of offer records from the plurality of servers;   mapping, by the mobile device, the plurality of offer records to the plurality of item descriptions of the shopping list; and   identifying, by the mobile device, a set of offer records of the plurality of offer records at or below the maximum price.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein obtaining the plurality of offer records comprises:
 broadcasting, by the mobile device, data associated with the location of the mobile device and the shopping list to another device within a range of the broadcast;   receiving, by the mobile device, data associated with the plurality of offer records from the another device;   mapping, by the mobile device, the plurality of offer records to the plurality of item descriptions of the shopping list; and   identifying, by the mobile device, a set of offer records of the plurality of offer records at or below the maximum price.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the normalizing the offer record in the plurality of offer records comprises:
 identifying, by the mobile device, the item description associated with the offer record;   identifying, by the mobile device, a monetary unit of the offer record common to at least one other offer record; and   converting, by the mobile device, the value of the offer record to the monetary unit common to the at least one other offer record.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the value for the offer record comprises at least one of:
 a price of an item of the plurality of item descriptions; or   a reduction in price for the item of the plurality of item descriptions.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 generating, by the mobile device, a user profile module, wherein the user profile module is configured for display by the mobile device and to receive data associated with a user profile of the user.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the mobile device, user profile data from the user, wherein the user profile data comprises data associated with at least one of:
 a name of the user; 
 a gender of the user; 
 an age of the user; 
 an address associated with the user; 
 a prior item entry in the shopping list; and 
 a purchase history of the user. 
   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 predicting, by the mobile device, at least one item of the shopping list based on user profile data associated with the user.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the shopping list module comprises at least one predicted item based on user profile data associated with the user. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein identifying the location of the mobile device comprises at least one of:
 a Global Positioning System;   a proximity to one or more cell towers;   a connection to a local area network; or   a proximity to one or more electronic sensors.
