Combustible Fire Starting Kit

Abstract

A combustible fire starting kit for conveniently stacking and burning fuel. The combustible fire starting kit includes a rectangular base frame having four side members and an aperture placed along an exterior wall. A bottom layer and a top layer are secured to the base frame, each layer having a plurality of parallel slats positioned at regular intervals. The side members, top layer and bottom layer form an interior volume where kindling material is placed. Vertical side support members are secured to the base frame in order allow for easy stacking of fuel. A wick is placed in the aperture, extending from the interior volume to beyond the exterior wall of the base frame. The base frame, top and bottom layers, and side support members are made from combustible material, allowing a user to burn the combustible fire starting kit along with the fuel.

1 ) A combustible fire starting kit, comprising:
 a base frame having four sides forming a rectangular shape with a top surface, a bottom surface, and an exterior wall, the base frame further comprising an aperture along the exterior wall;   a bottom layer comprising a plurality of bottom parallel slats secured to the bottom surface of the base frame at regular intervals;   a top layer, comprising a plurality of top parallel slats secured to the top surface of the base frame at regular intervals;   wherein the base frame, the bottom layer and the of top layer form an interior volume;   a plurality of vertically positioned support members secured to the exterior wall of the base frame;   wherein the base frame, the bottom layer, the top layer and the support members are composed of a combustible material;   a wick disposed in the aperture, the wick extending outwardly the from interior volume past the exterior wall of the base frame.   
     
     
         2 ) The combustible fire starting kit of  claim 1 , further comprising a combustible kindling material placed within the interior volume. 
     
     
         3 ) The combustible fire starting kit of  claim 1 , further comprising a first additional top layer disposed above the top layer, the first additional top layer comprising a plurality of parallel slats positioned perpendicular to the plurality of parallel slats of the top layer. 
     
     
         4 ) The combustible fire starting kit of  claim 3 , further comprising a second additional top layer disposed above the first additional top layer, the second additional top layer comprising a plurality of parallel slats positioned parallel to the plurality of parallel slats of the top layer. 
     
     
         5 ) The combustible fire starting kit of  claim 1 , wherein the wick is impregnated with an accelerant. 
     
     
         6 ) The combustible fire starting kit of  claim 1 , wherein the combustible material is wood. 
     
     
         7 ) A method of constructing a fire pit kit, comprising:
 securing four side members into a rectangular frame, forming a perimeter having an aperture along an exterior wall thereof;   securing a plurality of parallel slats at regular intervals onto the bottom surface of the rectangular frame, forming an interior volume;   placing kindling material within the interior volume;   securing a plurality of parallel slats at regular intervals onto the top surface of the rectangular frame;   securing a plurality of vertically positioned support members to the exterior wall of the rectangular frame;   placing a wick through the aperture, such that the wick extends outwardly from the interior volume past the exterior wall of the rectangular frame.
