Unmanned aerial system
Abstract
Embodiments of unmanned aerial systems are disclosed, which may comprise: a frame; a landing member attached to the frame; a propulsion system support member attached to the frame; a propulsion system attached to the propulsion system support member; a shroud having a paraboloid surface attached to the frame; a external equipment carrier attached to the frame; a sensor system; a sealed equipment container attached to the frame and located beneath the shroud; an electronic control system within the sealed equipment container and configured to control the propulsion system and the sensor system; and a power source within the sealed equipment container and configured to power the electronic control system.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An unmanned aerial system, comprising:
a frame; a landing member attached to the frame; a propulsion system support member attached to the frame; a propulsion system attached to the propulsion system support member; a shroud attached to the frame, the shroud having a paraboloid surface; an external equipment carrier attached to the frame; a sensor system; a sealed equipment container attached to the frame and located beneath the shroud; an electronic control system within the sealed equipment container and configured to control the propulsion system and the sensor system; and a power source within the sealed equipment container and configured to power the electronic control system.
2 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 1 , further comprising:
an external equipment release mechanism configured to release a piece of deployable equipment from the external equipment carrier, wherein the external equipment release mechanism is controllable by the control system.
3 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , wherein the external equipment release mechanism comprises an electronic actuator.
4 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , further comprising:
a piece of deployable equipment within the external equipment carrier; a tether line configured to tether the piece of deployable equipment to the unmanned aerial system after the piece of rescue equipment is deployed.
5 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , further comprising: a propulsion system shield attached to the propulsion system support member and configured to protect the propulsion system from an object strike.
6 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , further comprising: a flotation device attached to the frame and configured to provide buoyancy to the unmanned aerial system when in water.
7 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , further comprising: a sound system.
8 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 7 , wherein the sound system comprises a sound capturing device located on a top portion of the sealed equipment container.
9 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 7 , wherein the sound system comprises a sound emitting device located on a top portion of the sealed equipment container.
10 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 8 , wherein the sound capturing device is located near a focal point of the paraboloid surface of the shroud.
11 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 9 , wherein the sound emitting device is located near a focal point of the paraboloid surface of the shroud.
12 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , further comprising: a light system.
13 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 12 , wherein the light system comprises a light emitter located on a top portion of the sealed equipment container.
14 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 13 , wherein the light emitter is located near a focal point of the paraboloid surface of the shroud.
15 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 14 , wherein the paraboloid surface of the shroud comprises a reflective inner surface configured to reflect light from the light emitter.
16 . The unmanned aerial system of claim 2 , wherein the propulsion system comprises at least one electric motor connected to at least one propeller.
