Techniques for emotion detection and content delivery
Abstract
Techniques for emotion detection and content delivery are described. In one embodiment, for example, an emotion detection component may identify at least one type of emotion associated with at least one detected emotion characteristic. A storage component may store the identified emotion type. An application programming interface (API) component may receive a request from one or more applications for emotion type and, in response to the request, return the identified emotion type. The one or more applications may identify content for display based upon the identified emotion type. The identification of content for display by the one or more applications based upon the identified emotion type may include searching among a plurality of content items, each content item being associated with one or more emotion type. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving an image from an imaging component; detecting at least one emotion characteristic in the image; retrieving an emotion type associated with the at least one emotion characteristic from a storage component; and identifying content for display by one or more applications based upon the retrieved emotion type, the content including one or more of social networking posts, social networking photos, social networking videos, social networking audio, or social networking applications.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving a request for the detected emotion type through an application programming interface (API); and returning a currently-detected or last-detected emotion type.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising temporarily storing the retrieved emotion type in a secure area of memory accessible by an API component.
4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising receiving a selection of a time period for storing the detected emotion type from a user interface.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving a request from a social networking application for the retrieved emotion type; and transmitting a request for the content for display from the social networking application to a content delivery system on server device. Docket No: 1360 F 0026 C 32
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising associating a user profile with one or more associated emotion types, the content identified at least in part based on the user profile.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing an association between currently displayed content and the retrieved emotion type.
8 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
receive an image from an imaging component; detect at least one emotion characteristic in the image; retrieve an emotion type associated with the at least one emotion characteristic from a storage component; and identify content for display by one or more applications based upon the retrieved emotion type, the content including one or more of social networking posts, social networking photos, social networking videos, social networking audio, or social networking applications.
9 . The medium of claim 8 , further storing instructions for:
receiving a request for the detected emotion type through an application programming interface (API); and returning a currently-detected or last-detected emotion type.
10 . The medium of claim 8 , further storing instructions for temporarily storing the retrieved emotion type in a secure area of memory accessible by an API component.
11 . The medium of claim 10 , further storing instructions for receiving a selection of a time period for storing the detected emotion type from a user interface.
12 . The medium of claim 8 , further storing instructions for:
receiving a request from a social networking application for the retrieved emotion type; and transmitting a request for the content for display from the social networking application to a content delivery system on server device.
13 . The medium of claim 8 , further storing instructions for associating a user profile with one or more associated emotion types, the content identified at least in part based on the user profile.
14 . The medium of claim 8 , further storing instructions for storing an association between currently displayed content and the retrieved emotion type.
15 . An apparatus, comprising:
a processor circuit; an imaging component operative on the processor circuit and configured to capture an image; an emotion detection component operative on the processor circuit and configured to detect at least one emotion characteristic in the image; a storage component configured to store an emotion type associated with the at least one emotion characteristic; and a display configured to display content for one or more applications based upon the retrieved emotion type, the content including one or more of social networking posts, social networking photos, social networking videos, social networking audio, or social networking applications.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor circuit further operative to:
receive a request for the detected emotion type through an application programming interface (API); and return a currently-detected or last-detected emotion type.
17 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor circuit further operative to temporarily store the retrieved emotion type in a secure area of memory accessible by an API component.
18 . The apparatus of claim 17 , the processor circuit further operative to receive a selection of a time period for storing the detected emotion type from a user interface.
19 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor circuit further operative to:
receive a request from a social networking application for the retrieved emotion type; and transmit a request for the content for display from the social networking application to a content delivery system on server device.
20 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor circuit further operative to associate a user profile with one or more associated emotion types, the content identified at least in part based on the user profile.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
