Abstract

An article including at least one lighting zone, manufacture of the article, and a cooking apparatus including such an article when in a form of a glass-ceramic plate are described. The article includes at least one glass-ceramic substrate, and at least one light guide, the light guide coupled to at least one light source on one side outside of the lighting zone, and including, in the lighting zone, at least one mechanism of extracting radiation emitted by the light source.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An article comprising:
at least one lighting zone; at least one glass-ceramic substrate; and at least one light guide, the light guide being coupled to at least one light source on one side outside of the lighting zone, and comprising, in the lighting zone, at least one means for extracting radiation emitted by the light source.

2 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the substrate is a glass-ceramic plate and the light guide is a glass plate.

3 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the lighting zone is configured to surround and indicate at least one heating zone.

4 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light source comprises light-emitting diodes.

5 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light guide comprises at least one aperture in at least one lighting zone, or a frustoconical aperture, and the at least one lighting zone is configured to surround and indicate a heating zone.

6 . The article as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the aperture includes one or more beveled or chamfered edges and/or geometry and roughness of the one or more edges of the aperture are processed to enable local and controlled extraction of light.

7 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light guide comprises, over at least part of its surface, a rough zone, or a zone by sandblasting and/or enamelling, to enable local and controlled extraction of light.

8 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the one or more extracting means may or may not be localized, to all of one face, and/or are combined with another treatment that makes it possible to target the lighting zones, or with at least one masking means, concealing coating means, or a concealing layer screen-printed onto the substrate.

9 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light guide is connected to the substrate, or is coupled to the substrate but connected to another part of the article, or configured to be connected to the support on which the article is configured to be mounted.

10 . The article as claimed in claim 1 , as a cooking device, and/or a device for maintaining a high temperature, and comprising one or more heating elements.

11 . A method of manufacturing an article according to claim 1 , in which precursor glass is ceramized to obtain the glass-ceramic substrate, then the light guide is connected, or is joined, to the glass-ceramic substrate.
