Dispensing Device

Abstract

A dispensing device for dispensing dry bait includes a first tube that comprises a top, a bottom and a wall. The top is open and the bottom is closed. The wall extends from the bottom to the top defining an interior space. An opening is positioned in the wall proximate to the bottom. A closure is coupled to the wall and is positioned to reversibly cover the opening. A partition is positioned in the interior space and coupled to the wall proximate to a lower edge of the opening. The device comprises a plug that is complementary to the top. The top is configured such that items are insertable into the interior space. The plug is insertable into the top to contain the items. The closure is positioned in the wall such that the items are accessible to a user through the opening.

1 . A dispensing device comprising:
 a first tube, said first tube comprising:
 a top, said top being open, 
 a bottom, said bottom being closed, and 
 a wall, said wall extending from said bottom to said top defining an interior space; 
   a rim coupled to and extending from said bottom, said rim being planar and perpendicularly oriented relative to said first tube;   an opening, said opening being positioned in said wall proximate to said bottom;   a closure, said closure being coupled to said wall, such that said closure is positioned to reversibly cover said opening, said closure comprising a second tube, said second tube being dimensionally wider than said first tube such that said second tube is positionable over said first tube, wherein said second tube slides freely over said first tube to be urged into contact with said rim of said bottom by gravity, said second tube having a length such that said second tube covers said opening when said second tube abuts said rim, said second tube being slidable on said first tube such that said opening is exposed between said second tube and said rim when said second tube is moved away from said rim;   a partition, said partition being positioned in said interior space and coupled to said wall proximate to a lower edge of said opening;   a plug, said plug being complementary to said top; and   wherein said top is configured such that items are insertable into said interior space, such that said plug is insertable into said top to contain the items, and wherein said closure is positioned on said wall such that the items are accessible to a user through said opening.

         3 . The device of  claim 1 , further including said top and said bottom being circular, such that said first tube is cylindrical. 
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 1 , further including said opening being ovally shaped.

The device of  claim 1 , further including said partition extending upwardly from proximate to said lower edge of said opening defining a ramp, such that items placed in said interior space are directed down said ramp to said opening when said first tube is in a substantially upright position. 
     
     
         7 . The device of  claim 6 , further including said ramp being positioned at forty five degrees relative to said wall. 
     
     
         8 . The device of  claim 1 , further including said first tube and said closure comprising plastic. 
     
     
         9 . The device of  claim 8 , further including said first tube and said closure comprising polyvinylchloride. 
     
     
         10 . The device of  claim 1 , further including said plug having an upper face and a lower face, said upper face and said lower face being substantially circularly shaped. 
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 1 , further including said plug comprising rubber. 
     
     
         12 . The device of  claim 1 , further including a stop, said stop being coupled to and extending from a side surface of said plug, wherein said stop is positioned to contact said wall of said first tube as said plug is inserted into said top of said first tube. 
     
     
         13 . The device of  claim 12 , further including said stop being coupled to said plug substantially equally distant from an upper face and a lower face of said plug. 
     
     
         14 . The device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a cord, said cord defining a loop, said loop being configured for placement over a user's head for positioning around the user's neck; and   a coupler, said coupler being coupled to said plug, said coupler being configured to couple to said cord.   
     
     
         15 . The device of  claim 14 , further including said cord comprising a lanyard. 
     
     
         16 . The device of  claim 15 , further including said lanyard comprising parachute cord. 
     
     
         17 . The device of  claim 14 , further including said coupler comprising a penetration, said penetration being positioned through said plug proximate to an upper face of said plug. 
     
     
         18 . The device of  claim 1 , further including an indicator, said indicator being coupled to said rim, said indicator being substantially aligned with said opening, wherein said indicator is positioned on said rim such that the user is able to identify the position of said opening prior to opening said closure. 
     
     
         19 . The device of  claim 18 , further including said indicator comprising a mark, said mark being contrasting in color to said rim. 
     
     
         20 . A dispensing device comprising:
 a first tube, said first tube comprising:
 a top, said top being open, 
 a bottom, said bottom being closed, and 
 a wall, said wall extending from said bottom to said top defining an interior space; 
   a rim coupled to and extending from said bottom, said rim being planar and perpendicularly oriented relative to said first tube;   said top and said bottom being circular, such that said first tube is cylindrical;   an opening, said opening being positioned in said wall proximate to said bottom, said opening being ovally shaped;   a closure, said closure being coupled to said wall, such that said closure is positioned to reversibly cover said opening, said closure comprising a second tube, said second tube being dimensionally wider than said first tube such that said second tube is positionable over said first tube, wherein said second tube slides freely over said first tube to be urged into contact with said rim of said bottom by gravity, said second tube having a length such that said second tube covers said opening when said second tube abuts said rim, said second tube being slidable on said first tube such that said opening is exposed between said second tube and said rim when said second tube is moved away from said rim;   a partition, said partition being positioned in said interior space and coupled to said wall proximate to a lower edge of said opening, said partition extending upwardly from proximate to said lower edge of said opening defining a ramp, such that items placed in said interior space are directed down said ramp to said opening when said first tube is in a substantially upright position, said ramp being positioned at forty five degrees relative to said wall;   said first tube and said closure comprising plastic, said first tube and said closure comprising polyvinylchloride;   a plug, said plug being complementary to said top, said plug having an upper face and a lower face, said upper face and said lower face being substantially circularly shaped, said plug comprising rubber;   a stop, said stop being coupled to and extending from a side surface of said plug, wherein said stop is positioned to contact said wall of said first tube as said plug is inserted into said top of said first tube, said stop being coupled to said plug substantially equally distant from said upper face and said lower face;   a cord, said cord defining a loop, said loop being configured for placement over a user's head for positioning around the user's neck, said cord comprising a lanyard, said lanyard comprising parachute cord;   a coupler, said coupler being coupled to said plug, said coupler being configured to couple to said cord, said coupler comprising a penetration, said penetration being positioned through said plug proximate to an upper face of said plug;   an indicator, said indicator being coupled to said rim of said bottom, said indicator being substantially aligned with said opening, wherein said indicator is positioned on said rim such that the user is able to identify the position of said opening prior to opening said closure, said indicator comprising a mark, said mark being contrasting in color to said rim; and   wherein said top is configured such that items are insertable into said interior space, such that said plug is insertable into said top to contain the items, and wherein said closure is positioned on said wall such that the items are accessible to a user through said opening.
