Abstract

A straw closing sleeve for closing a drinking end of a straw includes a foldable blank that is converted into a sleeve body. The sleeve body includes a top end wall, two surrounding wall halves that extend downwardly from a peripheral end of the top end wall and that cooperate to define a bottom opening opposite to the top end wall, and a receiving space between the top end wall and the bottom opening, and two adhesively bonded joint portions that are respectively connected to two opposite sides of each of the surrounding wall halves. A foldable blank supplying sheet and a roll of foldable blank supplying tape for providing the straw closing sleeve are also disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A straw closing sleeve for closing a drinking end of a straw, comprising:
a foldable blank that is converted into a sleeve body, which includes: a top end wall; two surrounding wall halves that extend downwardly from a peripheral end of said top end wall, and that cooperate to define a bottom opening opposite to said top end wall and a receiving space between said top end wall and said bottom opening; and two adhesively bonded joint portions that are respectively connected to two opposite sides of each of said surrounding wall halves.

2 . The straw closing sleeve of claim 1 , wherein:
said foldable blank includes an elongate blank sheet that has two longitudinally opposite ends, a longitudinal adhesive-free portion extending from one of said opposite ends to the other one of said opposite ends, and two longitudinal adhesive-bearing portions, which are respectively disposed at two opposite sides of said adhesive-free portion, and which respectively have adhesive strips; said elongate blank sheet further includes a mid fold line that extends transversely through said adhesive-free portion and said adhesive-bearing portions and that divides said elongate blank sheet into two parts, and a looped fold line intersecting said mid fold line within said adhesive-free portion; wherein, when said foldable blank is converted into said sleeve body, an area defined by said looped fold line forms said top end wall, and the remaining area of said elongate blank sheet forms said surrounding wall halves and said adhesively bonded joint portions.

3 . The straw closing sleeve of claim 1 , wherein at least one of said adhesively bonded joint portions has a grip part that projects outwardly in a direction opposite to said surrounding wall halves.

4 . The straw closing sleeve of claim 2 , wherein said foldable blank further includes a printed layer 25 formed on a surface of said elongate blank sheet opposite to said adhesive strips.

5 . A foldable blank supplying sheet, comprising:
a blank carrier layer including a plurality of foldable blanks, a plurality of tear lines each surrounding one of said foldable blanks, and a plurality of scrap regions each surrounding one of said tear lines; a release layer; and an adhesive layer formed between said blank carrier layer and said release layer; wherein each of said foldable blank includes an elongate blank sheet that has a longitudinal adhesive-free portion, two longitudinal adhesive-bearing portions, which are respectively disposed at two opposite sides of said adhesive-free portion, a mid fold line that extends transversely through said adhesive-free portion and said adhesive-bearing portions and that divides said elongate blank sheet into two parts, and a looped fold line intersecting said mid fold line within said adhesive-free portion; and wherein said adhesive layer covers said longitudinal adhesive-bearing portions of said foldable blanks and said scrap regions.

6 . The foldable blank supplying sheet of claim 5 , further comprising a printed layer formed on each of said foldable blanks.

         7 . A roll of foldable blank supplying tape ( 4 ) comprising:
a blank tape having a long row of foldable blanks interconnected in series, and a plurality of blank tape transverse tear lines each formed between two adjacent ones of said foldable blanks; wherein each of said foldable blanks includes an elongate blank sheet 23 that has a longitudinal adhesive-free portion, two longitudinal adhesive-bearing portions, which are respectively disposed at two opposite sides of said adhesive-free portion, a mid fold line that extends transversely through said adhesive-free portion and said adhesive-bearing portions and that divides said elongate blank sheet into two parts, and a looped fold line intersecting said mid fold line within said adhesive-free portion.

8 . The roll of foldable blank supplying tape of claim 7 , further comprising a release tape removably connected to said blank tape.

9 . The roll of foldable blank supplying tape of claim 8 , wherein said release tape is formed with a plurality of release tape transverse tear lines that are respectively aligned with said blank tape transverse tear lines.

10 . The roll of foldable blank supplying tape of claim 9 , wherein said blank tape further has multiple pairs of longitudinal scrap regions, and multiple pairs of longitudinal tear lines, each pair of said scrap regions being formed between two adjacent ones of said blank tape transverse tear lines at two opposite sides of a corresponding one of said foldable blanks, each of said longitudinal tear lines being disposed between two adjacent ones of said blank tape transverse tear lines and between a corresponding one of said foldable blanks and a corresponding one of said longitudinal scrap regions.
