Abstract

A firearm grip includes first and second ends, a gap between the first and second ends, and a bolt aperture extending from the first end to the gap. The first end receives a firearm receiver. The bolt aperture receives a bolt to attach the firearm grip to the firearm receiver. The gap may be a thumbhole. The bolt aperture may extend through an upper portion of the firearm grip. A method of assembling a firearm includes positioning a firearm receiver adjacent to a first end of a firearm grip and positioning a bolt within a bolt aperture of the firearm grip. The bolt extends into the firearm receiver. The firearm receiver may be a shotgun receiver. The bolt may be inserted into the bolt aperture through a gap in the firearm grip. The bolt may be countersunk within a surface of the gap.

         1 . A firearm grip comprising:
 a first end configured to receive a firearm receiver; a second end; a gap positioned between the first end and the second end; and a bolt aperture extending from the first end to the gap, wherein the bolt aperture is configured to receive a bolt to attach the firearm grip to the firearm receiver.

         2 . The firearm grip of claim 1 , wherein the gap is a thumbhole.

         3 . The firearm grip of claim 2 , wherein the thumbhole opens upward.

         4 . The firearm grip of claim 1 , wherein the bolt aperture extends through an upper portion of the firearm grip.

         5 . The firearm grip of claim 1 , wherein the second end is configured to attach to a firearm stock.

         6 . The firearm grip of claim 1 , further comprising a bolt positioned in the bolt aperture, the bolt being countersunk within a surface of the gap.

         7 . A method of assembling a firearm, the method comprising:
 positioning a firearm receiver adjacent to a first end of a firearm grip, the firearm grip comprising the first end, a second end, a gap positioned between the first end and the second end, and a bolt aperture extending from the first end to the gap; and positioning a bolt within the bolt aperture, the bolt extending through the bolt aperture and into the firearm receiver.

         8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the bolt is inserted into the bolt aperture through the gap.

         9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the gap is a thumbhole.

         10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the bolt is countersunk within a surface of the gap.

         11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the bolt aperture extends through an upper portion of the firearm grip.

         12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising attaching a firearm stock to the second end of the firearm grip.

         13 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the firearm receiver is a shotgun receiver.

         14 . A firearm comprising:
 a firearm grip having:
 a first end;
 a second end;
 a gap positioned between the first end and the second end; and
 a bolt aperture extending from the first end to the gap;
   a firearm receiver; and a bolt extending through the bolt aperture and into the firearm receiver.

         15 . The firearm of claim 14 , wherein the gap is a thumbhole.

         16 . The firearm of claim 15 , wherein the thumbhole opens upward.

         17 . The firearm of claim 14 , wherein the bolt aperture extends through an upper portion of the firearm grip.

         18 . The firearm of claim 14 , further comprising a firearm stock attached to the second end.

         19 . The firearm of claim 14 , wherein the bolt is countersunk within a surface of the gap.

         20 . The firearm of claim 14 , wherein the firearm receiver is a shotgun receiver.
