Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A mop head having a bottom face portion comprising:
a first recessed portion recessed from said bottom face portion; and a first fastener strip mounted in said at first recessed portion.

2 . The mop head of claim 1 wherein said mop head bottom face portion is formed by a rigid web structure that defines a bottom plane of said mop head; said bottom face portion being adapted to engage a top surface of a mop pad.

3 . The mop head of claim 2 wherein said bottom plane of said mop head is substantially coplanar with a lower most portion of said first fastener strip.

4 . The mop pad of claim 1 further comprising:
 a second recessed portion and
a second fastener strip mounted in said second recessed portion.

5 . the mop head of claim 2 wherein said first recessed portion if defined by said rigid web structure.

6 . The mop head of claim 1 , said fastener strip being positioned in a frame structure, said frame structure being attached to a surface defining said recessed portion.

7 . A mop head having a web structure defining a bottom face plane of said mop head.

8 . The mop head of claim 7 , said web structure being adapted to engage a top portion of a flexible mop pad.

9 . The mop head of claim 8 , said web structure comprising a plurality of interconnected vertical wall portions that define a plurality of adjacent, three-sided cells.

10 . The mop head of claim 9 , some of said plurality of interconnected vertical wall portions also defining at least part of a recess for receiving a mop pad attachment assembly.

11 . The mop head of claim 10 , said recess for receiving a mop pad attachment assembly being defined in part by a bottom peripheral edge of said mop head.

12 . The mop head of claim 10 , said mop pad attachment assembly comprising a fastener strip.

13 . The mop head of claim 12 , said mop pad attachment assembly comprising a frame member, said fastener strip being mounted in said frame member.

14 . The mop head of claim 14 , said frame member being adhesively secured within said recess.

15 . The mop head of claim 14 further comprising a second recess for receiving a second mop pad attachment assembly.

         16 . A mop assembly comprising:
a mop head having a bottom face portion comprising:
 a first recessed portion; and
 a first fastener strip mounted in said first recessed portion;
a mop handle attached to said mop head; and a mop pad attached to said bottom face portion of said mop head.

17 . The mop assembly of claim 16 wherein said mop head bottom face portion comprises a rigid web structure defining a bottom plane of said bottom face portion, said bottom face portion being adapted to engage a top surface of said mop pad.

18 . The mop assembly of claim 17 wherein said bottom face portion bottom plane is substantially coplanar with a lower most portion of said first fastener strip.

19 . The mop assembly of claim 16 , said mop head further comprising:
a second recessed portion and a second fastener strip mounted in said second recessed portion.

20 . The mop assembly of claim 16 wherein said first fastener strip comprises a plurality of hook-type fibers that are adapted to penetrate and releasably hold the mop pad against the mop head bottom face portion during normal mopping operations, said hook-type fibers being adapted to nondestructively release said mop pad when sufficient removal force is applied thereto.
