Abstract

Methods, systems and computer readable medium are presented for providing a response to a request. A request (e.g., a java request) is received by a computer-based system for providing a response to a request. The availability of the backend system (e.g., java dispatching system) request is analyzed in response to receiving the request. In response to a determination that the backend system is unavailable to process the request, an unavailable response is transmitted. In response to a determination that the backend system is available to process the request, the request is transmitted to a backend system to process the request.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A method for monitoring a cloud computing resource including one or more resource pools, the method comprising:
 monitoring, by a computer system, the cloud computing resource, wherein the cloud computing resource is tasked with performing one or more specified computing tasks in a task queue; analyzing, by the computer system, availability of the cloud computing resource to process the specified tasks; responsive to the analyzing, the computer system determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the one or more specified tasks in the task queue within a threshold amount of time; and based on the determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process all the tasks, the computer system:
 invoking event software code to initiate a notification service; and
 initiating at least one of the one or more resource pools to be reallocated to process the tasks based on a result of the monitoring.

         22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising receiving, by the computer system, a request for use of the cloud computing resource.

         23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising responsive to determining that the cloud computing resource will become available within the threshold amount of time, the computer system buffering the request for use of the cloud computing resource.

         24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the analyzing availability of the cloud computing resource is performed responsive to receiving the request for use of the cloud computing resource.

         25 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising adding, by the computer system, the request for use of the cloud computing resource to the task queue.

         26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the notification service provides a notification to a requestor of a request corresponding to at least one of the one or more tasks that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable.

         27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the determining the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the one or more specified tasks in the task queue within a predetermined time is based on historical availability of the cloud computing resource.

         28 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions executable by a computer system to cause the computer system to perform operations comprising:
 monitoring a cloud computing resource that includes one or more resource pools, wherein the cloud computing resource is tasked with performing one or more specified computing tasks in a task queue; analyzing availability of the cloud computing resource to process the specified tasks; responsive to the analyzing, determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the one or more specified tasks in the task queue within a predetermined time; and based on the determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process all the tasks:
 invoking event software code to initiate a notification service; and
 initiating at least one of the one or more resource pools to be reallocated to process the tasks based on a result of the monitoring.

         29 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 28 , wherein the initiating the at least one of the one or more resource pools to be reallocated includes changing a size of the at least one resource pool from a minimum pool size to a intermediate pool size.

         30 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 28 , wherein the determining the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the one or more specified tasks in the task queue within a predetermined time is based on historical availability of the cloud computing resource.

         31 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 28 , wherein the monitoring includes monitoring according to a service level agreement associated with at least one of the one or more computing tasks.

         32 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 28 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the computer system, a request from a requestor for use of the cloud computing resource; and determining, based on the analyzing, that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request within a predetermined time.

         33 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request with the predetermined time is based on historical availability data particular to previous requests from the requestor.

         34 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request with the predetermined time is based on historical availability data particular to one or more previous requests similar to the request.

         35 . A system, comprising:
 one or more processors; and a memory coupled to the one or more processors, wherein the memory has stored thereon instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
 monitoring a cloud computing resource of the system that includes one or more resource pools, wherein the cloud computing resource is tasked with performing one or more computing tasks in a task queue;
 receiving a request for the cloud computing resource from the task queue;
 responsive to receiving the request, analyzing availability of the cloud computing resource to process the request;
 responsive to the analyzing, determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request within a predetermined time; and
 based on the determining that the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request:
 invoking event software code to initiate a notification service; and
 initiating at least one of the one or more resource pools to be reallocated to process the request based on a result of the monitoring.

         36 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the monitoring includes monitoring a service level agreement associated with at least one of the one or more computing tasks.

         37 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 based on determining that a service level agreement associated with the request is about to expire, providing a timeout response to a requestor of the request.

         38 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the determining the cloud computing resource is currently unavailable to process the request within a predetermined time is based on historical availability of the cloud computing resource

         39 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the historical availability of the cloud computing resource is based on historical availability data corresponding to requests similar to the request.

         40 . The system of claim 35 , further comprising buffering the request in response to determining that the cloud computing resource will become available within a predetermined time.
