Abstract
The present invention provides a rack assembly that supports stemware in an inverted position and is configured to slidably mount inside of a dishwasher, thereby permitting the washing and drying of the stemware. The rack assembly is comprised of a box shaped wireframe that has plurality of supporting bars on top side of the wireframe. The supporting bar is interrupted at predetermined position to form multiple loops. The loops are configured to receive the stem of the stemware from open side and support the stemware in inverted position wherein the base of stemware rest on the loop. The rack assembly further includes a clip member that is positioned adjacent to the loop and hinged to the supporting bar. The clip member is configured to pivot and press against the base of the stemware, thereby preventing the stemware from shaking or moving during washing.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A rack assembly for supporting a plurality of stemmed objects that have a circular base connected by a stem to a bowl portion, said rack assembly configured to slidably mount inside of a dishwasher, thereby permitting washing of the stemmed object, said rack assembly comprising:
a. a rigid wireframe having a top side, bottom side, and four parallel left, right, front and rear sides defining the volume of the rigid wireframe, the front side having a left edge, right edge and bottom edge, the top side comprising at least one row extending between rear side and the front side, said row comprising a pair of parallel elongated supporting bars extending from the rear side to the front side of said wireframe, the row having a closed rear portion and open front portion, said pair of parallel elongated supporting bars are spaced apart to slidably receive the stem of said stemmed object from the from portion of the row, said supporting bar is interrupted at predetermined intervals to form plurality of loops configured to receive the stem of the stemmed object from the open side of loop and supporting the stemmed object in an inverted position with the base of the stemmed object resting on the loop; b. a clip member hinged to said supporting bars and adjacent to the loop, said clip member configured to pivot and securely press against the base of stemmed object mounted in said loop to prevent shaking of the stemmed object; and c. at least one roller connected to left and right side of the wireframe and configured to ride along the rails inside the dishwasher.
2 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said dishwasher is further comprised of an elongated hook positioned on front portion said row, said hook hingedly coupled to one of the pair of elongated parallel supporting bars and configured to removably latch to the opposite supporting bar to thereby closing the front passage of said row.
3 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said stemmed object is a glassware.
4 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein the surface of said clip member in contact with the base of stemmed object further comprises a cushioning layer.
5 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said wireframe is made of rigid stainless steel wire.
6 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in vertical position.
7 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in slightly slanting position.
8 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in a 5-10 degree angle from the vertical position.
9 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said wireframe is further comprised of handles to allow lifting of said rack assembly.
10 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said wireframe is comprised of two rows.
11 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said adjacent loops are spaced apart to safely accommodate the stemmed objects of varying sizes.
12 . The rack assembly of claim 1 , wherein said roller could be extended outwards to adapt to the size of the dishwasher.
13 . A rack assembly for supporting plurality of stemmed object having a circular base connected by a stem to a bowl portion, said rack assembly configured to slidably mount inside a dishwasher permitting washing of the stemmed object, said rack assembly comprising:
d. a rigid wireframe having a top side, bottom side, and four parallel left, right, front and rear sides defining the volume of the rigid wireframe, the front side having a left edge, right edge and bottom edge, the top side comprising at least one elongated supporting bar extending between the rear side and the front side, said supporting bar is interrupted at predetermined intervals to form plurality of loops configured to receive the stem of the stemmed object from the open side of loop and supporting the stemmed object in inverted position with the base of the stemmed object resting on the loop; e. a clip member hinged to said supporting bar and adjacent to the loop, said clip member configured to pivot and securely press against the base of the stemmed object mounted in said loop to prevent shaking of the stemmed object; and f. at least one roller connected to left and right side of the wireframe and configured to ride along the rails inside the dishwasher.
14 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said stemmed object is glassware.
15 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein the surface of said clip member in contact with the base of stemmed object is a cushioning layer.
16 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said wireframe is made of rigid stainless steel wire.
17 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in vertical position.
18 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in slightly slanting position.
19 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said loop is configured to support the stemmed object in a 5-10 degree angle from the vertical position.
20 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said wireframe is further comprised of handles to allow lifting of said rack assembly.
21 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said adjacent loops are spaced apart to safely accommodate the stemmed objects of varying sizes.
22 . The rack assembly of claim 13 , wherein said roller could be extended outwards to adapt to size of the dishwasher.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
