Abstract
A method for inputting a text and a display apparatus using the same are provided, the text input method including: transferring a message for requesting execution of a text input mode to an external device; receiving the text from the external device; and displaying the received text if it is determined that a situation in which a text is to be input occurs. Therefore, if a situation in which a text is to be input occurs, an external device automatically operates in a text input mode, and thus a user more conveniently inputs the text.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for inputting text to a television using a mobile device, the method comprising:
displaying a screen including a text input user interface on a display of the television; activating the text input user interface in response to a command received from the mobile device; transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal to the mobile device to cause for the mobile device to provide a graphic keyboard, in response to the text input user interface for text input being activated; receiving, by the television from the mobile device, a text signal corresponding to an input received through one or more text characters of the caused graphic keyboard; and displaying text corresponding to the text signal in the text input user interface displayed on the television.
2 . The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the television receives and displays broadcasting data, and the mobile device performs operations independent of the television.
3 . The method as claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:
in response to a command received from a remote controller of the television, distinct from the mobile device, while receiving the text signal and displaying the text corresponding to the text signal in the text input user interface displayed on the television, executing the received command.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the text input user interface is activated by a signal, received from a remote controller of the television, for activating the text input user interface displayed on the display of the television.
5 . The method as claimed in claim 4 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
6 . The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
7 . The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the screen is at least one a web page screen, a menu screen, a content page screen, and a setup screen of the television.
8 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program which when executed causes a television to execute a method of inputting text to the television using a mobile device, the method comprising:
displaying a screen including a text input user interface on a display of the television; activating the text input user interface in response to a command received from the mobile device; transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal to the mobile device to cause for the mobile device to provide a graphic keyboard, in response to the text input user interface for text input being activated; receiving, by the television from the mobile device, a text signal corresponding to an input received through one or more text characters of the caused graphic keyboard; and displaying text corresponding to the text signal in the text input user interface displayed on the television.
9 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of claim 8 , wherein the television receives and displays broadcasting data, and the mobile device performs operations independent of the television.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises:
in response to a command received from a remote controller of the television, distinct from the mobile device, while receiving the text signal and displaying the text corresponding to the text signal in the text input user interface displayed on the television, executing the received command.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the text input user interface is activated by a signal, received from a remote controller of the television, for activating the text input user interface displayed on the display of the television.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of claim 11 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
13 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of claim 8 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the television to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
14 . The non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of claim 8 , wherein the screen is at least one a web page screen, a menu screen, a content page screen, and a setup screen of the television.
15 . An image processing apparatus comprising:
a wireless communication unit; and a controller configured to control to output a screen including a text input user interface, to activate the text input user interface in response to a signal for activating the text input user interface, being received from a mobile device, to control the wireless communication unit to transmit, a signal to the mobile device to cause the mobile device to provide a graphic keyboard, in response to the text input user interface for text input being activated, and to control to output text in the text input user interface, in response to a text signal corresponding to one or more text characters inputted by the mobile device displaying the graphic keyboard, wherein the text is output in the text input user interface corresponds to the text signal received from the mobile device.
16 . The image processing apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the image processing apparatus receives and displays broadcasting data, and the mobile device performs operations independent of the image processing apparatus.
17 . The image processing apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the controller is further configured to, in response to a command received from a remote controller of the image processing apparatus, distinct from the mobile device, while receiving the text signal and outputting the text in the text input user interface, execute the received command.
18 . The image processing apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the text input user interface is activated by a signal, received from a remote controller of the image processing apparatus, for activating the text input user interface.
19 . The image processing apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the controller is further configured to control the wireless communication unit to transmit, to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
20 . The image processing apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the controller is further configured to control the wireless communication unit to transmit, to the mobile device, a signal for causing to terminate the displaying the graphic keyboard in response to the text input user interface being disappeared or deactivated.
