Abstract
There is provided a method for positioning of user equipment. The method for positioning of user equipment, includes: receiving, by the user equipment, a signal from an external antenna, the signal being radiated in a cyclic pattern; measuring, by the user equipment, strength of the received signal, characterizing, by the user equipment, the measured strength to form a signal pattern over a time period; and determining a position of the user equipment based on the signal pattern.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 8 . (canceled)
9 . A method in an antenna set for radiating a signal in a cyclic pattern from an antenna to allow for a determining of a position of a user equipment by the user equipment, comprising:
generating, by a control unit of the antenna set, control signals for actuating the antenna; and actuating, by an actuating unit of the antenna set, the antenna to radiate a signal in a cyclic pattern in response to the generated control signals such that strength of the signal is characterized in a signal pattern over a time period by the user equipment.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the signal is radiated in a clockwise direction and counterclockwise direction alternately.
11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising stopping, by the actuating unit, the rotation of the radiated signal for a predetermined time.
12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the actuating includes rotating the antenna in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction alternately in a predetermined rotating speed in response to the control signals.
13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the actuating includes performing beam-forming with the antenna on the signal to be radiated, the signal being rotated in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction alternately in a predetermined rotating speed in response to the control signals.
14 - 22 . (canceled)
23 . An antenna set to allow for a determination of position of a user equipment by the user equipment, comprising:
an antenna to radiate a signal; a control unit to generate control signals for actuating the antenna; and an actuating unit to actuate the antenna that radiates the signal in a cyclic pattern in response to the generated control signals such that strength of the signal is characterized in a signal pattern over a time period by the user equipment.
24 . The antenna set of claim 23 , wherein the signal is radiated in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction alternately.
25 . The antenna set of claim 24 , wherein the actuating unit is further to stop the rotation of the radiated signal for a predetermined quiescent time.
26 . The antenna set of claim 23 , wherein the actuating unit is to rotate the antenna in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction alternately in a predetermined rotating speed in response to the control signals.
27 . The antenna set of claim 23 , wherein the actuating unit is to perform beam-forming with the antenna upon the signal to be radiated with being rotated in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction alternately in a predetermined rotating speed in response to the control signals.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
