Abstract
A composition and method for treating hair loss is disclosed. The composition comprises water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal components, aqueous and alcohol-based solvents, potassium iodide and citrus essential oil, and is preferably provided as a non-aerosol spray product that is applied to the hair and scalp. The invention further provides a method of making and using the composition.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A composition for treating hair loss comprising:
water-soluble ionizable metal compounds consisting of potassium chloride, potassium oxide, potassium phosphate, and manganese ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Mn-EDTA); water-soluble ionizable non-metal compounds consisting of ammonium sulfate, urea, and boric acid; soluble copper selected from the group consisting of copper sulfate and copper ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Cu-EDTA), soluble iron selected from the group consisting of iron ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe-EDTA) and iron hydroxy-2-ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe-HEDTA); and soluble zinc selected from the group consisting of zinc sulfate and zinc ethylenediaminetretraacetic (Zn-EDTA); said hair loss composition further comprising an aqueous solvent, an alcohol-based solvent wherein said alcohol-based solvent is a short chain alcohol selected from ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol or combinations thereof, solubilized potassium iodide, and citrus essential oil.

The composition of claim 1 , wherein said water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal compounds are provided as a dry mixture consisting of ammonium sulfate, urea, potassium phosphate, potassium oxide, potassium chloride, boric acid, copper sulfate, iron ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe-EDTA), manganese ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Mn-EDTA), and zinc sulfate, said dry mixture further comprising urea phosphate, sodium molybdate, and excipient ingredients, wherein said excipient ingredients are binding agents, stabilizing agents, thickening agents, or combinations thereof.

The composition of claim 1 , wherein said water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal compounds are provided as a water solubilized mixture consisting of ammonium sulfate, urea, potassium phosphate, potassium oxide, potassium chloride, boric acid, copper ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Cu-EDTA), iron hydroxy-2-ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid iron (Fe-HEEDTA), manganese ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Mn-EDTA), and zinc ethylenediaminetretraacetic (Zn-EDTA).
4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said potassium iodide is solubilized with kelp extract.
5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said citrus essential oil is selected from grapefruit essential oil, lemon essential oil, orange essential oil, and combinations thereof.
6 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said alcohol-based solvent further comprises methyl salicylate.
7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal compounds are solubilized with said aqueous solvent prior to addition of said alcohol-based solvent.
8 . The composition of claim 7 , wherein said aqueous solvent is purified water.
9 . The composition of claim 2 , wherein said dry mixture of water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal compounds is solubilized in water prior to addition of said short-chain alcohol.

The composition of claim 3 , wherein said water-solubilized mixture further comprises excipient ingredients selected from water-soluble polymers, soluble silicates, polysaccharides, gums, celluloses, clays, xanthan gum, acacia gum, guar gum, carrageenan, alginic acid, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, pectin, rice starch, wheat starch, corn starch, aluminum monostearate, polyethylene glycol, sodium silicate, sodium bentonite, attapulgite, and combinations thereof, wherein said excipient ingredients are suitable for topical application.

The composition of claim 2 , wherein said excipient ingredients are selected from water-soluble polymers, soluble silicates, polysaccharides, gums, celluloses, clays, xanthan gum, acacia gum, guar gum, carrageenan, alginic acid, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, pectin, rice starch wheat starch, corn starch, aluminum monostearate, polyethylene glycol, sodium silicate, sodium bentonite, attapulgite, or combinations thereof, wherein said excipient ingredients are suitable for topical application.

22 . A composition for treating hair loss comprising:
water-soluble ionizable metal compounds consisting of potassium phosphate, potassium oxide, potassium iodide, potassium chloride, manganese ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Mn-EDTA), copper ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Cu-EDTA), iron ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe-EDTA), and zinc ethylenediaminetretraacetic (Zn-EDTA); water-soluble non-metal compounds consisting of ammonium sulfate, urea, and boric acid; and wherein said water-soluble ionizable metal and non-metal compounds are combined with an aqueous solvent, an alcohol-based solvent and a citrus essential oil.
23 . The composition of claim 22 , wherein said aqueous solvent is selected from deionized water or distilled water.
24 . The composition of claim 22 , wherein said alcohol-based solvent is a short-chain alcohol.
25 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein said short chain alcohol is selected from ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and combinations thereof.
26 . The composition of claim 22 , wherein said potassium iodide is solubilized with kelp extract.
27 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein said short chain alcohol is solubilized with methyl salicylate.
28 . The composition of claim 27 , wherein said citrus oil is selected from grapefruit essential oil, lemon essential oil, orange essential oil, and combinations thereof.
29 . The composition of claim 22 , further comprising excipient ingredients suitable for topical application, said excipient ingredients selected from binders, stabilizing agents, thickening agents, and combination thereof.

The composition of claim 29 , wherein said excipient ingredients are selected from water-soluble polymers, soluble silicates, polysaccharides, gums, celluloses, clays, xanthan gum, acacia gum, guar gum, carrageenan, alginic acid, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, pectin, rice starch, wheat starch, corn starch, aluminum monostearate, polyethylene glycol, sodium silicate, sodium bentonite, attapulgite, and combinations thereof.
31 . The composition of claim 22 , further comprising one or more water-soluble ionizable metal compound selected from copper sulfate, iron hydroxy-2-ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe HEDTA), sodium molybdate, zinc sulfate, or combinations thereof.
32 . The composition of claim 22 , further comprising urea phosphate.
33 . A composition for treating hair loss comprising:
water-soluble ionizable metal compounds consisting of potassium phosphate, potassium oxide, potassium chloride, potassium iodide, copper sulfate, iron ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Fe-EDTA), manganese ethylenediaminetretraacetic acid (Mn-EDTA), sodium molybdate, and zinc sulfate; water soluble ionizable non-metal compounds consisting of ammonium sulfate, urea, urea phosphate, and boric acid; kelp extract; a citrus essential oil; one or more excipient ingredient suitable for topical application, wherein said one or more excipient ingredient is selected from a binding agent, stabilizing agent, thickening agent, or combination thereof; an aqueous solvent; and a short-chain alcohol solubilized with methyl salicylate.
34 . The composition of claim 33 , wherein said short chain alcohol is selected from ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and combinations thereof.

The composition of claim 33 , wherein said one or more excipient ingredient suitable for topical application is selected from water-soluble polymers, soluble silicates, polysaccharides, gums, celluloses, clays, xanthan gum, acacia gum, guar gum, carrageenan, alginic acid, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, pectin, rice starch, wheat starch, corn starch, aluminum monostearate, polyethylene glycol, sodium silicate, sodium bentonite, attapulgite, or combinations thereof.
