Protective cases for mobile devices
Abstract
A protective case for a mobile device may comprise a frame having a number of spokes connected to four protective corners adapted for holding a portable electronic device. A central portion of the body may include a mounting member, which may comprise, enclose or hold a metallic, magnetic, or magnetically attractive material that may be used to removably secure the case to a mount, e.g., by magnetic attraction. The mount may include a magnetic or magnetically attractive core for holding and mounting the case by magnetic attraction. In some embodiments, a case and one or more mounts may be provided as an assembly or kit.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A protective case for a mobile device, comprising:
a frame having a plurality of spokes attached to and extending from a central mounting member; and a plurality of protective corner members, each corner member attached to a distal end of one of the plurality of spokes, wherein each corner is configured and dimensioned to secure to and protect a corner of a mobile device, wherein the central mounting member is configured and dimensioned to mate with and removably secure to a mount for holding the case in a desired position.
2 . The protective case of claim 1 , wherein the central mounting member comprises a magnetic or magnetically-attractive material adapted to secure to the mount by magnetic attraction.
3 . A protective case assembly for a mobile device, comprising:
a case comprising a frame having a plurality of spokes attached to and extending from a central mounting member, each spoke terminating in a protective corner member, wherein the central mounting member comprises a magnetic or magnetically-attractive material and each corner is configured and dimensioned to secure to and protect a corner of a mobile device; and a mount having a front portion configured and dimensioned to mate with and removably secure the central mounting member by magnetic attraction and a rear portion configured to secure to a structure for holding the assembly.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
