Abstract

A communication apparatus includes a reception unit that receives a Bluetooth® beacon signal transmitted from a printing apparatus, an identification unit that identifies a reception field intensity of the beacon signal, a display unit that displays a reception screen for receiving a transmission instruction in a case where the identified reception field intensity is less than a first threshold and greater than or equal to a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold, and a transmission unit that transmits, to the printing apparatus, an authentication request enabling a user to log into the printing apparatus in response to receipt of the transmission instruction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A communication apparatus comprising:
a reception unit configured to receive a Bluetooth® beacon signal transmitted from a printing apparatus; an identification unit configured to identify a reception field intensity of the beacon signal; a display unit configured to display a reception screen for receiving a transmission instruction in a case where the identified reception field intensity is less than a first threshold and greater than or equal to a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold; and a transmission unit configured to transmit, to the printing apparatus, an authentication request, enabling a user to log into the printing apparatus in response to receipt of the transmission instruction, wherein, in a case where the identified reception field intensity is greater than or equal to the first threshold, the transmission unit automatically transmits the authentication request to the printing apparatus without receiving the transmission instruction.

2 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 ,
wherein the beacon signal includes identification information of the printing apparatus, and wherein the identification information is displayed on the reception screen.

3 . The communication apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the identification information is a name of the printing apparatus.

4 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 ,
wherein a plurality of printing apparatuses each being a transmission source of a beacon signal having a reception field intensity less than the first threshold and greater than or equal to the second threshold is displayed on the reception screen, and wherein the transmission unit transmits the authentication request to a printing apparatus selected from the plurality of printing apparatuses.

5 . The communication apparatus according to claim 4 ,
wherein the beacon signal includes identification information of the printing apparatus, and wherein the identification information of each of the plurality of printing apparatuses is displayed on the reception screen.

6 . The communication apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the identification information is a name of the printing apparatus.

7 . A control method for controlling a communication apparatus, the control method comprising:
receiving a Bluetooth® beacon signal transmitted form a printing apparatus; identifying, a reception field intensity of the beacon signal; displaying a reception screen for receiving a transmission instruction in a case where the identified reception field intensity is less than a first threshold and greater than or equal to a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold; and transmitting, to the printing apparatus, an authentication request enabling a user to log into the printing apparatus in response to receipt of the transmission instruction, wherein, in a case where the identified reception field intensity is greater than or equal to the first threshold, the authentication request is automatically transmitted to the printing apparatus without receiving the transmission instruction.

8 . The control method according to claim 7 ,
wherein the beacon signal includes identification information of the printing apparatus, and wherein the identification information is displayed on the reception screen.

9 . The control method according to claim 8 , wherein the identification information is a name of the printing apparatus.

10 . The control method according to claim 7 ,
wherein a plurality of printing apparatuses each being a transmission source of a beacon signal having a reception field intensity less than the first threshold and greater than or equal to the second threshold is displayed on the reception screen, and the authentication request is transmitted to a printing apparatus selected from the plurality of printing apparatuses.

11 . The control method according to claim 10 ,
wherein the beacon signal includes identification information of the printing apparatus, and wherein the identification information of each of the plurality of printing apparatuses is displayed on the reception screen.

12 . The control method according to claim 11 , wherein the identification information is a name of the printing apparatus.

13 . A computer-readable storage medium storing computer executable instructions for executing a control method to control a communication apparatus, the control method comprising:
receiving a Bluetooth® beacon signal transmitted form a printing apparatus; identifying, a reception field intensity of the beacon signal; displaying a reception screen for receiving a transmission instruction in a case where the identified reception field intensity is less than a first threshold and greater than or equal to a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold; and transmitting, to the printing apparatus, an authentication request enabling a user to log into the printing apparatus in response to receipt of the transmission instruction, wherein, in a case where the identified reception field intensity is greater than or equal to the first threshold, the authentication request is automatically transmitted to the printing apparatus without receiving the transmission instruction.
