Abstract

A wireless end-user device stores historical link quality (LQ) information associated with a plurality of device positionings. The device estimates LQs for a plurality of neighboring positionings of a current device positioning, and presents information to a user for adjusting the wireless end-user device to one or more of the neighboring positionings having an estimated LQ higher than that of the current positioning.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

2 . A method of operating a wireless end-user device, the method comprising:
storing historical link quality (LQ) information associated with a plurality of wireless end-user device positionings, estimating, based at least in part of the historical LQ information, a plurality of LQs with respective neighboring positionings of the wireless end-user device, wherein the neighboring positionings include, as compared to a current positioning of the wireless end-user device, at least one of a different location, a different orientation, a different usage mode, and a different positioning of the wireless end-user device relative to a current user position; presenting information to a user for adjusting the wireless end-user device to one or more of the neighboring positionings having an estimated LQ higher than a LQ of the current positioning.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein presenting information to a user comprises displaying to the user, on a user interface of the wireless end-user device, a map showing one or more neighboring positionings with an estimated LQ higher than a LQ of the current positioning.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein presenting information to a user comprises issuing a voice command to the user through an audio interface of the wireless end-user device.

5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the estimated LQs comprises one or more of a path loss (PL), shadowing (S), interference (I), signal to noise ratio (SNR), signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR), signal to interference ratio (SIR), channel quality indicator (CQI), channel state information (CQI), and a packet error rate (PER).

6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the estimated LQs is associated with a frequency band or a frequency channel.

7 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising obtaining at least a portion of the historical LQ information from a link partner.

8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the usage mode comprises information indicating one or more of a user handheld mode, a hands-free mode, a speaker phone mode, a car Bluetooth mode, and a headset Bluetooth mode.

9 . The method of claim 2 , wherein estimating a plurality of LQs is further based at least in part on a location of surrounding objects in the vicinity of the wireless end-user device.

10 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising determining the current positioning of the wireless end-user device using a plurality of sensors on the wireless end-user device.
