Abstract

A method for coloring powders is provided that includes mixing a base powder and non-incorporated pigments. A colored powder composition having a base powder particle and at least a partial shell of non-incorporated pigments about the base powder particle is also provided. Articles having a coating of the colored powder composition are also provided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A powder coating composition, comprising:
a plurality of powder particles, comprising:
a base powder particle with a median particle size of about 25 to 150 μm; and
at least a partial shell of non-incorporated white and colored pigment particles associated with the base powder particle.

22 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the base powder particle has a median particle size of 30 to 70 μm.

23 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the base powder particle has a median particle size of 30 to 50 μm.

24 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the partial shell of non-incorporated white pigment particles comprises at least 4,500 non-incorporated white pigment particles.

25 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the partial shell of non-incorporated white pigment particles comprises at least 9,000 non-incorporated white pigment particles.

26 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the white pigment is selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide, HALOW, powders of zinc sulfide and barium sulphate, aluminum phosphate nanoparticles, and zinc oxide.

27 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the white pigment is titanium dioxide.

28 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the composition is a free-flowing powder.

29 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the base powder is not colored.

30 . The composition of claim 21 , wherein the base powder is colored.
