File managing method for a digital apparatus

Abstract

A file managing method for a digital apparatus includes (a) establishing a folder corresponding to a file type generated in an operational mode of the digital apparatus, and (b) storing a file according to its file type to the folder corresponding to the file type established in step (a).

         33 . A file managing method comprising:
 for a data capturing apparatus having a hot key and a memory, the memory storing a plurality of files each being contained by one of a plurality of folders, setting up a shortcut linked to the hot key that is configured to transmit files contained by a distinguished one of the plurality of folders to a corresponding folder on an alternative storage device that is operationally independent from the data capturing apparatus;   receiving, from the hot key on the data capturing apparatus, a transmit signal, the transmit signal corresponding to the particular one of the one or more folders distinguished folder; and   in response to receiving the transmit signal, sending all files contained by the distinguished folder to the alternative storage device, wherein sending all files contained by the distinguished folder, to the alternative storage device comprises initiating a transfer of all the files contained by the distinguished folder without any user selection of the distinguished folder subsequent to setting up the shortcut.   
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein individual folders of the plurality of folders correspond to a distinct operation mode of a plurality of operation modes. 
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 34 , wherein the plurality of operation modes include at least one of a picture mode, motion picture mode, or recording mode. 
     
     
         36 . The method of  claim 33 , further comprising causing the alternative storage device to establish the corresponding folder based, at least in part, on a type of one or more files contained by the distinguished folder. 
     
     
         37 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein the type of one or more files contained by the distinguished folder corresponds to at least one of image, motion picture, or audio type. 
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the data capturing apparatus includes at least one of a digital camera, digital camcorder, or mobile phone. 
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 33 , further comprising receiving one or more files from the alternative storage device. 
     
     
         40 . The method of  claim 39 , further comprising classifying the received one or more files based, at least in part, on a file type of the received one or more files. 
     
     
         41 . The method of  claim 40 , wherein classifying the received one or more files comprises comparing at least one file name extension of the received one or more files with at least one folder name of the plurality of folders. 
     
     
         42 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the alternative storage device comprises a personal computer. 
     
     
         43 . A memory device storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations for managing files in a digital apparatus having a hot key and a memory storing the files contained by a plurality of folders, the operations comprising:
 setting up a shortcut linked to the hot key that is configured to transmit files contained by a distinguished one of a plurality of folders to a storage device remote from the digital apparatus; and   in response to receiving a transmit signal from the hot key, transmitting all files contained by the distinguished folder to the storage device, wherein transmitting all files contained by the distinguished folder to the storage device comprises initiating a transfer of all the files contained by the distinguished folder without any user selection of the distinguished folder subsequent to setting up the shortcut.   
     
     
         44 . The memory device of  claim 43 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 capturing a file with the digital apparatus;   selecting a folder from the plurality of folders based, at least in part, on a correlation between a file type of the captured file and a name of the folder; and   storing the captured file in the selected folder.   
     
     
         46 . The memory device of  claim 43 , wherein transmitting all files contained by the distinguished folder to the storage device, is performed using at least one of a wired or wireless network transmission. 
     
     
         47 . The memory device of  claim 43 , wherein the operations further comprise, when transmitting all files contained by the distinguished folder to the storage device, causing creation of a folder on the storage device in accordance with a type of files contained by the distinguished folder. 
     
     
         48 . The memory device of  claim 43 , wherein the operations further comprise setting up a second shortcut, linked to the hotkey, to transmit files in a second folder of the plurality of folders to the storage device. 
     
     
         49 . A data capturing digital apparatus comprising:
 a storage sub-system configured to store files in a memory of the digital apparatus, wherein individual files are stored in one of a plurality of folders in accordance with a type of the file; and   a hot key configured to transmit a signal to a processing element of the digital apparatus, the signal corresponding to a particular one of the plurality of folders, wherein the processing element is configured to, in response to receiving the transmit signal, send all files stored in the particular folder to an alternative storage device remote from the digital apparatus, and wherein sending all files stored in the particular folder to the storage device comprises initiating a transfer of all the files stored in the particular folder without any user selection of the particular folder.   
     
     
         50 . The digital apparatus of  claim 49 , wherein the type of the file includes at least one of image, motion picture, or audio type. 
     
     
         51 . The digital apparatus of  claim 49 , wherein the storage sub-system is further configured to establish one or more of the plurality of folders in accordance with a selected operation mode of the digital apparatus. 
     
     
         52 . The digital apparatus of  claim 49 , wherein sending all files stored in the particular folder to an alternative storage device further comprises sending all the files stored in the particular folder to a corresponding folder established on the alternative storage device, the corresponding folder matching a type of all the files stored in the particular folder.
