Abstract

Embodiments disclosed herein describe sprinkler systems that are integrated into a fence. More specifically, embodiments relate to a sprinkler system with sprinkler heads that are configured to be extended from a top surface of the fence when in operation and recessed into the fence when not in use.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A sprinkler system comprising:
 a sprinkler head being configured to be positioned within a fence in a first mode and to be elevated from the fence in a second mode; and   a valve positioned within the fence configured to open to allow fluid to flow out of the sprinkler head when the sprinkler head is elevated from the first post.   
     
     
         2 . The sprinkler system of  claim 1 , wherein the valve is configured to close to not allow fluid to flow out of the sprinkler head when the sprinkler head is in the first mode. 
     
     
         3 . The sprinkler system of  claim 1 , wherein the fence includes a plurality of posts including a first post and a plurality of rails including a first rail, wherein the valve is positioned proximate to an intersection of the first post and the first rail. 
     
     
         4 . The sprinkler system of  claim 3 , wherein the plurality of posts and the plurality of rails include hollow chambers. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4 , wherein the valve is an electric valve configured to remain open for a predetermined amount of time. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 5 , wherein electric wiring is positioned within at least a portion of the hollow chambers. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein the intersection is within a lower half of the first post. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the sprinkler head is configured to be elevated based on pressure of fluid flowing through the fence. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the pressure of fluid flowing through the fence decreases responsive to closing the valve. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a plurality of sprinkler heads positioned within posts of the fence;   a plurality of valves positioned within the posts of the fence, wherein each of the valves are configured to control a corresponding sprinkler head.   
     
     
         11 . A method for operating a sprinkler system comprising:
 closing a valve within a fence in a first mode;   positioning a sprinkler head within the fence in the first mode;   opening, in a second mode, the valve within the fence;   elevating the sprinkler head from the fence in the second mode to allow fluid to flow out of the sprinkler head.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 closing the valve is to not allow fluid to flow out of the sprinkler head when the sprinkler head is in the first mode.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the fence includes a plurality of posts including a first post and a plurality of rails including a first rail, wherein the valve is positioned proximate to an intersection of the first post and the first rail. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the plurality of posts and the plurality of rails include hollow chambers. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein the valve is an electric valve configured to remain open for a predetermined amount of time. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein electric wiring is positioned within at least a portion of the hollow chambers. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the intersection is within a lower half of the first post. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 moving the sprinkler head from the first mode to the second mode based on pressure of fluid flowing through the fence.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising:
 decreasing the pressure of fluid flowing through the fence responsive to closing the valve.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 positioning a plurality of sprinkler heads within posts of the fence;   positioning a plurality of valves positioned within the posts of the fence;   controlling a corresponding post with a corresponding valve.
