Golf bag and fitting systems for the same

Abstract

Harness assemblies for golf bags have a top track and two lower tracks coupled to the golf club bag. First and second hoop assemblies slidingly couple in the top track whereas single hoop assemblies couple in the lower tracks. A first shoulder strap connects between the first hoop assembly and a support hub. A second shoulder strap connects between the support hub and one of the lower tracks. The support hub has straps connecting to the second hoop assembly and the second lower track. When fitting the golf bag to the user, the hoop assemblies are selectively moved within the top track to optimize a fit of the shoulder straps.

         20 . A golf bag assembly comprising:
 a bag having an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis between a closed bottom end and an open top end;   a rigid top cuff surrounding the open top end;   a top track extending along a transverse axis, the top track being coupled to at least a portion of the rigid top cuff and having a plurality of capture positions extending single file along the top track;   first and second upper attachment hoops slidingly coupled in the top track for selective movement along the transverse axis between the plurality of capture positions of the top track;   a first lower track extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and perpendicular to the top track, the first lower track: being mounted on the bag intermediate the closed bottom end and the open top end; and having a plurality of capture positions extending single file along the first lower track;   a first lower attachment hoop slidingly coupled in the first lower track for selective movement along the longitudinal axis between the plurality of capture positions of the first lower track;   a second lower track extending parallel to the longitudinal axis perpendicular to the top track, the second lower track: being mounted on the bag intermediate the closed bottom end and the open top end; having a plurality of capture positions; and being spaced from the first lower track;   a second lower attachment hoop slidingly coupled in the second lower track for selective movement along the longitudinal axis between the plurality of capture positions of the second lower track;   a first upper connector strap extending between the first upper attachment hoop and a first shoulder strap, the first shoulder strap being coupled to a support hub by a first pivoting D-ring;   a second upper connector strap extending between the first lower attachment hoop and a second shoulder strap, the second shoulder strap being coupled to the support hub by a second pivoting D-ring;   a first lower coupling arrangement extending between the second upper attachment hoop and the support hub; and   a second lower coupling arrangement extending between the second lower attachment hoop and the support hub,   wherein:   the first and second upper attachment hoops are selectively moved laterally along the top track to increase or decrease the distance along the transverse axis between the first upper connector strap and the first lower coupling arrangement in order to optimize a fit when a person carries the golf bag;   the first lower attachment hoop is selectively moved longitudinally along the first lower track to increase or decrease the distance along the longitudinal axis between the first lower attachment hoop and both the first and second upper attachment hoops in order to optimize a fit when a person carries the golf bag;   the second lower attachment hoop is selectively moved longitudinally along the second lower track to increase or decrease the distance along the longitudinal axis between the second lower attachment hoop and both the first and second upper attachment hoops in order to optimize a fit when a person carries the golf bag; and   the first and second pivoting D-rings swivel to allow a golfer to slip the first and second shoulder straps over their shoulders easily and quickly.   
     
     
         21 . A harness assembly as recited in  claim 20 , wherein the first and second lower coupling arrangements are attached to the support hub by a first and second adjustment buckle, respectively, wherein the adjustment buckles allow for adjustments in the total length of the respective coupling arrangements between the support hub and golf bag.
