Ventillation System
Abstract
A ventilation system includes a building that has a soffit. A vent is coupled to the soffit and the vent is positionable between and open position and a closed position. The vent allows air to pass through the soffit when the vent is in the open position. The vent restricts a flow of the air through the soffit when the vent is in the closed position. The vent prevents objects from passing through the soffit when the vent is in the closed position. A control is coupled to the vent such that the control urges the vent between the open position and the closed position. The control is in electrical communication with an extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating the vent to be remotely positioned between the open position and the closed position.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A ventilation system comprising:
a building having a soffit; a vent being coupled to said soffit, said vent being positionable between and open position and a closed position, said vent being configured to vent air through said soffit when said vent is in said open position, said vent being configured to restrict a flow of the air through said soffit when said vent is in said closed position, said vent being configured to prevent objects from passing through said soffit when said vent is in said closed position; and a control being coupled to said vent such that said control urges said vent between said open position and said closed position, said control being configured to be in electrical communication with an extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating said vent to be remotely positioned between said open position and said closed position.
2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein:
said vent comprises a frame and a plurality of louvers, said frame having a pair of lateral members each being coupled to and extending between a pair of longitudinal members, said lateral members being spaced from each other such that said frame has a rectangular shape; and said louvers being rotatably coupled to said frame, said louvers being coupled between each of said lateral members, said louvers being spaced apart from each other and distributed between said longitudinal members.
3 . The system according to claim 2 , wherein each of said louvers is selectively rotated about an axis extending through said lateral members, each of said louvers being spaced apart from each other when said vent is said open position, said louvers lying flat against each other when said vent is in said closed position.
4 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein:
said vent includes a frame; said control comprises a control circuit being positioned within said frame; and a receiver being positioned within said frame, said receiver being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said receiver being configured to be in electrical communication with the extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating said control circuit to receive an open command and a close command from the extrinsic electronic device.
5 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein:
said vent includes a frame and a plurality of louvers, said frame including a pair of lateral members; and a rod being positioned within one of said lateral members, said rod being mechanically coupled to each of said louvers such that said rod selectively rotates said louvers.
6 . The system according to claim 4 , further comprising a motor being positioned within said frame, said motor being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said motor rotating in a first direction when said control circuit receives the open command, said motor rotating in a second direction when said control circuit receives the close command.
7 . The system according to claim 5 , further comprising:
a motor; a pivot being movably coupled between said motor and said rod such that said motor urges said rod to selectively rotate said louvers thereby facilitating said vent to be positioned in said closed position and said open position.
8 . The system according to claim 4 , further comprising a power supply being positioned within said frame, said power supply being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said power supply said power supply comprising a cord extending away from said frame, said cord being configured to be electrically coupled to a power source.
9 . A ventilation system comprising:
a building having a soffit; a vent being coupled to said soffit, said vent being positionable between and open position and a closed position, said vent being configured to vent air through said soffit when said vent is in said open position, said vent being configured to restrict a flow of the air through said soffit when said vent is in said closed position, said vent being configured to prevent objects from passing through said soffit when said vent is in said closed position, said vent comprising a frame and a plurality of louvers, said frame having a pair of lateral members each being coupled to and extending between a pair of longitudinal members, said lateral members being spaced from each other such that said frame has a rectangular shape, said louvers being rotatably coupled to said frame, said louvers being coupled between each of said lateral members, said louvers being spaced apart from each other and distributed between said longitudinal members, each of said louvers being selectively rotated about an axis extending through said lateral members, each of said louvers being spaced apart from each other when said vent is said open position, said louvers lying flat against each other when said vent is in said closed position; and a control being coupled to said vent such that said control urges said vent between said open position and said closed position, said control being configured to be in electrical communication with an extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating said vent to be remotely positioned between said open position and said closed position, said control comprising:
a control circuit being positioned within said frame,
a receiver being positioned within said frame, said receiver being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said receiver being configured to be in electrical communication with the extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating said control circuit to receive an open command and a close command from the extrinsic electronic device,
a rod being positioned within one of said lateral members, said rod being mechanically coupled to each of said louvers such that said rod selectively rotates said louvers,
a motor being positioned within said frame, said motor being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said motor rotating in a first direction when said control circuit receives the open command, said motor rotating in a second direction when said control circuit receives the close command,
a pivot being movably coupled between said motor and said rod such that said motor urges said rod to selectively rotate said louvers thereby facilitating said vent to be positioned in said closed position and said open position, and
a power supply being positioned within said frame, said power supply being electrically coupled to said control circuit, said power supply comprising a cord extending away from said frame, said cord being configured to be electrically coupled to a power source.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
