Abstract
The invention provides methods of treating autophagy mediated diseases and disorders and related pharmaceutical compositions, diagnostics, screening techniques and kits. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method of determining whether a subject suffers from, or is at risk of developing, and autophagy mediated disease state and/or condition by evaluating LC3 levels.

86 . A pharmaceutical composition for use in the treatment of tuberculosis comprising:
(a) an effective amount of at least one compound as an autophagy modulator selected from the group consisting of rapamycin, flubendazole, bromhexine and curcumin; and (b) an effective amount of an anti-tuberculosis agent, further in combination with a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier, additive and/or excipient.
87 . The composition according to claim 86 wherein said compound is rapamycin, flubendazole, bromhexine or a mixture thereof.
