Crypto currency chargeback system
Abstract
Distributed crypto currency chargeback systems and methods include at least one system provider device receiving, through a network from a payer device associated with a payer, a chargeback report associated with a first transaction of a plurality of transactions performed using a distributed crypto currency, where the first transaction involves the payer and a payee. The at least one system provider device publishes the chargeback report in a chargeback ledger. The at least one system provider device receives, through the network from a payee device associated with the payee subsequent to publishing the chargeback ledger including the chargeback report, a chargeback response associated with the first transaction. The at least one system provider device then publishes the chargeback response in the chargeback ledger.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A distributed crypto currency chargeback system, comprising:
a non-transitory memory; and one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
signing, along with a payer, a multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transfers an amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by the payer to an address controlled by a payee;
identifying, through a network, a chargeback report that was published to a chargeback ledger by a payer device of the payer, wherein the chargeback report is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee;
identifying, through the network subsequent to the chargeback report being published to the chargeback ledger, a chargeback response that was published to the chargeback ledger by a payee device of the payee, wherein the chargeback response is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee;
analyzing the chargeback report and the charge back response; and
transferring, through the network in response to analyzing the chargeback report and the chargeback response, the amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by a chargeback insurance entity to an address controlled by the payer.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:
creating, through the network on a contract ledger in response to signing the multi-signature crypto currency transaction, a smart contract.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the transferring the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the chargeback insurance entity to the address controlled by the payer is performed according to the smart contract.
4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the smart contract is configured to expire after a time period.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is a chargeback public ledger that is separate from the crypto currency public ledger.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is included in the crypto currency public ledger.
7 . A method for providing distributed crypto currency chargebacks, comprising:
signing, using a chargeback insurance entity device by a chargeback insurance entity along with a payer, a multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transfers an amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by the payer to an address controlled by a payee; identifying, using the chargeback insurance entity device through a network, a chargeback report that was published to a chargeback ledger by a payer device of the payer, wherein the chargeback report is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee; identifying, using the chargeback insurance entity device through the network subsequent to the chargeback report being published to the chargeback ledger, a chargeback response that was published to the chargeback ledger by a payee device of the payee, wherein the chargeback response is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee; analyzing, using the chargeback insurance entity device, the chargeback report and the charge back response; and transferring, using the chargeback insurance entity device through the network in response to analyzing the chargeback report and the chargeback response, the amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by a chargeback insurance entity to an address controlled by the payer.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
creating, using the chargeback insurance entity device through the network on a contract ledger in response to participating in the multi-signature crypto currency transaction, a smart contract.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the transferring the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the chargeback insurance entity to the address controller by the payer is performed according to the smart contract.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the smart contract is configured to expire after a time period.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is a chargeback public ledger that is separate from the crypto currency public ledger.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is included in the crypto currency public ledger.
13 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
initiating, using the payer device through the network, the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction; and selecting, using the payer device in response to initiating the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction, the chargeback insurance entity for signing the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction.
14 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:
signing, along with a payer, a multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transfers an amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by the payer to an address controlled by a payee; identifying, through a network, a chargeback report that was published to a chargeback ledger by a payer device of the payer, wherein the chargeback report is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee; identifying, through the network subsequent to the chargeback report being published to the chargeback ledger, a chargeback response that was published to the chargeback ledger by a payee device of the payee, wherein the chargeback response is associated with the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction that transferred the amount of crypto currency from the address controlled by the payer to the address controlled by the payee; analyzing the chargeback report and the charge back response; and transferring, through the network in response to analyzing the chargeback report and the chargeback response, the amount of crypto currency from an address controlled by a chargeback insurance entity to an address controlled by the payer.
15 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the operations further comprise:
creating, through the network on a contract ledger in response to signing the multi-signature crypto currency transaction, a smart contract.
16 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the transferring the amount of crypto currency from the addressed controlled by the chargeback insurance entity to the address controlled by the payer is performed according to the smart contract.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the smart contract is configured to expire after a time period.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is a chargeback public ledger that is separate from the crypto currency public ledger.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction is included in a crypto currency public ledger, and wherein the chargeback ledger is included in the crypto currency public ledger.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving, through the network in response to the payer device initiating the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction, a selection to participate in the multi-signature distributed crypto currency transaction.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
