Pharmaceutical compositions comprising 7-(1h-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-quinoline for treating skin diseases and conditions

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for treating skin diseases and skin conditions in a patient in need thereof which comprises of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 7-(1H-Imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-quinoline, or its individual enantiomers or the tautomers thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of treating an ocular disease or condition in a patient, the method comprising:
 treating the patient with a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 7-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline, or an individual enantiomer thereof, or tautomer of any of the foregoing, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;   wherein the ocular disease or condition is selected from the group consisting of ocular rosacea, pterygium, redness, hyperemia, conjunctival hyperemia, corneal neovascularization, ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and Stevens-Johnson syndrome;   thereby treating the ocular disease or condition in the patient.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises (R)-(−)-7-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline, or a tautomer thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the foregoing. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises (S)-(+)-7-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline, or a tautomer thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the foregoing. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is ocular rosacea. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is pterygium. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is redness. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is hyperemia or conjunctival hyperemia. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is corneal neovascularization. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is ocular cicatricial pemphigoid. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the ocular disease or condition is Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
