Abstract
A form is provided for positioning an anchor in a castable material, such as concrete, having a core element defining a volume for creating a recess in the castable material, an anchor having one end positioned inside the core element for engaging a security device, such as a cable or chain, and the anchor having another end extending outside the core element, for fixing the anchor in the castable material, and an elongated drain forming member extending from the bottom of the core element to the ground, for creating a passageway for transporting water that collects in the recess.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 8 . (canceled)
9 . A device for securing an article, comprising:
(a) a horizontal slab of castable material overlaying the ground having a recess formed in an upper surface of the slab; (b) an anchor having a a first portion positioned within a volume defined by the recess for engaging a security device and a second portion positioned in the slab; and (c) an elongated drain opening in the slab extending from a bottom of the recess to the ground.
10 . The device of claim 9 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member is selected from the group consisting of hollow tubes and porous material.
11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the anchor is selected from the group consisting of rods and eyebolts.
12 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the drain forming member is a wick and the wick comprises cotton fibers formed into a rope.
13 . The device of claim 10 , where the drain forming member is a wick, and further comprising a stake engaging an end of the wick opposite the recess and securing the end of the wick to the ground.
14 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the stake has a hole through it and the end of the wick is threaded through the hole.
15 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the drain forming member is a wick comprised of hydrophilic fibers selected from the group consisting of natural and synthetic fibers.
16 - 32 . (canceled)
33 . A device for securing an article, comprising:
(a) a horizontal slab of castable material overlaying the ground having a recess formed in an upper surface of the slab; (b) an anchor having a a first portion positioned within a volume defined by the recess for engaging a security device and a second portion positioned in the slab; and (c) an elongated drain opening in the slab extending from a bottom of the recess to the ground and capable of transporting water from the recess to the ground.
34 . The device of claim 33 , wherein the castable material is selected from the group consisting of concrete and asphalt.
35 . The device of claim 33 , wherein the castable material is concrete and the slab has a surface area of at least 10 ft 2 or a weight of at least 500 lbs.
36 . The device of claim 35 , wherein the anchor is selected from the group consisting of rods and eyebolts.
37 . The device of claim 33 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member is a porous material.
38 . The device of claim 37 , wherein the porous material is selected from the group consisting of open-cell foam, woven, non-woven or knitted textile material and rope.
39 . The device of claim 37 , wherein the porous material is selected from the group consisting of woven, non-woven or knitted textile material and rope, and the porous material is formed from natural or synthetic fibers, or combinations thereof.
40 . The device of 33 , further comprising a removable lid covering the recess in the slab.
41 . The device of claim 33 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member is a hollow tube.
42 . The device of claim 33 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member comprises a water soluble polymer.
43 . The device of claim 33 is a rod, and the rod comprises a center positioned in the recess and first and second ends positioned in the castable material.
44 . The device of claim 43 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member is a rope comprised of fibers selected from the group consisting of manila hemp, hemp, linen, cotton, coir, jute, straw, flax, ramie, kenaf, rattan and sisal.
45 . The device of claim 43 , further comprising a drain forming member positioned in the drain opening, wherein the drain forming member extends from the recess to the ground, and wherein the drain forming member is a wick, and further comprising a stake engaging an end of the wick opposite the recess, wherein the stake has a hole through it and the end of the wick is threaded through the hole and the stake secures the end of the wick to the ground.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
