Abstract
In one example embodiment, a display device for suppressing reflected light includes a driving circuit and a display region which includes a plurality of pixels. In one example embodiment, the plurality of pixels includes a first pixel having a first light emitting element which includes a first light emitting portion having a first layer surface. In one example embodiment, first pixel includes a second light emitting element which includes a second light emitting portion having a second, different layer surface. In one example embodiment, the first pixel includes a third light emitting element which includes a third light emitting portion having a third, different layer surface.

1 . A display device comprising:
a circuit layer including, stacked in this order on a substrate, first metal layers; a first insulating layer covering the first metal layers; and second metal layers in contact with the first insulating layer, and a display layer overlying the circuit layer, wherein the display layer includes: a first light emitting element configured to emit light of a first color; a second light emitting element configured to emit light of a second color; and a third light emitting element configured to emit light of a third color, wherein: (a) the first light emitting element includes a first anode electrode and a first light emitting layer disposed on the first anode electrode, a surface of the first anode electrode having a first surface contour structure; (b) the second light emitting element includes a second anode electrode and a second light emitting layer disposed on the second anode electrode, a surface of the second anode electrode having a second surface contour structure; and (c) the third light emitting element includes a third anode electrode and a third light emitting layer disposed on the third anode electrode, a surface of the third anode electrode having a third surface contour structure, wherein: (d) a first portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a first region under the first anode electrode has a first pattern; (e) a second portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a second region under the second anode electrode has a second pattern which is different from the first pattern; and (f) a third portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a third region under the third anode electrode has a third pattern which is different from the second pattern, the first metal layers include first electrodes of capacitors, and gate electrodes of drive transistors, the second metal layers include second electrodes of the capacitors, wherein each of the capacitors has a corresponding one of the first electrodes and a corresponding one of the second electrodes facing each other, each of the first, second and third anode electrodes overlaps with a corresponding one of the second electrodes, the first surface contour structure is different from the second surface contour structure due to the difference between the first pattern and the second pattern, and the second surface contour structure is different from the third surface contour structure due to the difference between the second pattern and the third pattern.
2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first color is red, the second color is green, and the third color is blue.
3 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first light emitting element, the second light emitting element and the third light emitting element are aligned in a first direction, and signal lines are extending in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.
4 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein:
(a) the first light emitting element includes a first cathode electrode disposed on the first light emitting layer, a surface of the first cathode electrode having a first cathode surface contour structure; (b) the second light emitting element includes a second cathode electrode disposed on the second light emitting layer, a surface of the second cathode electrode having a second cathode surface contour structure which is different from the first cathode surface contour structure; and (c) the third light emitting element includes a third cathode electrode disposed on the third light emitting layer, a surface of the third cathode electrode having a third cathode surface contour structure which is different from the second cathode surface contour structure, and wherein each of the first, the second and the third cathode surface contour structures is respectively based on the first, the second and the third patterns of the circuit layer.
5 . The display device of claim 4 , wherein the first, the second and the third cathode are formed as a common layer.
6 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein:
the first surface contour structure has a first convex shape when viewed as a cross-section; the second surface contour structure has a second convex shape which is different from the first convex shape when viewed as a cross-section; and the third surface contour structure has a third convex shape which is different from the second convex shape when viewed as a cross-section.
7 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein:
the first surface structure has a first concave shape when viewed as a cross-section; the second surface structure has a second concave shape which is different from the first concave shape when viewed as a cross-section; and the third surface structure has a third concave shape which is different from the second concave shape when viewed as a cross-section.
9 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the third surface contour structure is different from both of the first surface contour structure and the second surface contour structure.
10 . The display device of claim 1 , further comprising a second insulating layer covering the circuit layer,
wherein each of the first, the second and the third patterns is respectively reflected into the first, the second and the third surface contour structures via the second insulating layer.
11 . A display device comprising:
a circuit layer including, stacked in this order on a substrate, first metal layers; a first insulating layer covering the first metal layers; and second metal layers in contact with the first insulating layer, and a display layer overlying the circuit layer, wherein the display layer includes: a first light emitting element configured to emit light of a first color; a second light emitting element configured to emit light of a second color; and a third light emitting element configured to emit light of a third color, wherein: (a) the first light emitting element includes a first anode electrode and a first light emitting layer disposed on the first anode electrode, a surface of the first anode electrode having a first surface contour structure; (b) the second light emitting element includes a second anode electrode and a second light emitting layer disposed on the second anode electrode, a surface of the second anode electrode having a second surface contour structure; and (c) the third light emitting element includes a third anode electrode and a third light emitting layer disposed on the third anode electrode, a surface of the third anode electrode having a third surface contour structure, wherein: (d) a first portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a first region under the first anode electrode has a first pattern; (e) a second portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a second region under the second anode electrode has a second pattern which is different from the first pattern; and (f) a third portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a third region under the third anode electrode has a third pattern which is different from the second pattern, the first metal layers include first electrodes of capacitors, and gate electrodes of drive transistors, the second metal layers include second electrodes of the capacitors, wherein each of the capacitors has a corresponding one of the first electrodes and a corresponding one of the second electrodes facing each other, a first one of the second electrodes has a first aperture, one of the first, second and third anode electrodes overlaps with the first aperture, the first surface contour structure is different from the second surface contour structure due to the difference between the first pattern and the second pattern, and the second surface contour structure is different from the third surface contour structure due to the difference between the second pattern and the third pattern.
12 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein a second one of the second electrodes has a second aperture, and
another one of the first, second and third anode electrodes overlaps with the second aperture.
13 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein another one of the first, second and third anode electrodes does not overlap with any apertures of the second electrodes.
14 . The display device of claim 12 , wherein the second one of the second electrodes has a plurality of second apertures, and
the another one of the first, second and third anode electrodes overlaps with the second apertures.
15 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein:
(a) the first light emitting element includes a first cathode electrode disposed on the first light emitting layer, a surface of the first cathode electrode having a first cathode surface contour structure; (b) the second light emitting element includes a second cathode electrode disposed on the second light emitting layer, a surface of the second cathode electrode having a second cathode surface contour structure which is different from the first cathode surface contour structure; and (c) the third light emitting element includes a third cathode electrode disposed on the third light emitting layer, a surface of the third cathode electrode having a third cathode surface contour structure which is different from the second cathode surface contour structure, and wherein each of the first, the second and the third cathode surface contour structures is respectively based on the first, the second and the third patterns of the circuit layer.
16 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein:
the first surface contour structure has a first convex shape when viewed as a cross-section; the second surface contour structure has a second convex shape which is different from the first convex shape when viewed as a cross-section; and the third surface contour structure has a third convex shape which is different from the second convex shape when viewed as a cross-section.
17 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein a power voltage for pixel circuits is applied to a portion of the second metal layers
18 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein the circuit layer includes a second insulating layer covering the circuit layer;
and wherein each of the first, the second and the third patterns is respectively reflected into the first, the second and the third surface contour structures via the second insulating layer.
19 . The display device of claim 11 , the first surface contour structure is different from the second surface contour structure in both of a first direction and the second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction, and
the second surface contour structure is different from the third surface contour structure in both of a first direction and the second direction, wherein signal lines are extending to the second direction.
20 . A display device comprising:
a circuit layer including, stacked in this order on a substrate, first metal layers; a first insulating layer covering the first metal layers; and second metal layers made of aluminum and titanium and in contact with the first insulating layer, and a display layer overlying the circuit layer, wherein the display layer includes: a first light emitting element configured to emit light of a first color; a second light emitting element configured to emit light of a second color; and a third light emitting element configured to emit light of a third color, wherein: (a) the first light emitting element includes a first anode electrode and a first light emitting layer disposed on the first anode electrode, a surface of the first anode electrode having a first surface contour structure; (b) the second light emitting element includes a second anode electrode and a second light emitting layer disposed on the second anode electrode, a surface of the second anode electrode having a second surface contour structure; and (c) the third light emitting element includes a third anode electrode and a third light emitting layer disposed on the third anode electrode, a surface of the third anode electrode having a third surface contour structure, wherein: (d) a first portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a first region under the first anode electrode has a first pattern of the second metal layers; (e) a second portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a second region under the second anode electrode has a second pattern of the second metal layers which is different from the first pattern; and (f) a third portion of the circuit layer corresponding to a third region under the third anode electrode has a third pattern of the second metal layers which is different from the second pattern, the second metal layers include first wiring lines, second wiring lines, first metal wirings connected to transistors, and second metal wirings connected to anode electrodes, each of the first, second and third anode electrodes overlaps with a corresponding one of the first wiring lines, a corresponding one of the second wiring lines, a corresponding one of the first metal wirings, and a corresponding one of the second metal wirings, each of the first, second and third anode electrodes is connected to the corresponding one of the second metal wirings, the first surface contour structure is different from the second surface contour structure due to the difference between the first pattern and the second pattern, and the second surface contour structure is different from the third surface contour structure due to the difference between the second pattern and the third pattern.
21 . The display device of claim 20 , wherein the first metal layers include lower electrodes of capacitors, and gate electrodes of transistors.
22 . The display device of claim 20 , wherein the first metal wirings are in contact with the first metal layers.
23 . The display device of claim 21 , wherein the corresponding one of the first metal wirings that overlaps with the first anode electrodes is in contact with a corresponding one of the lower electrodes of the capacitors.
24 . The display device of claim 21 , wherein the second metal layers include upper electrodes of the capacitors.
25 . The display device of claim 20 , wherein the first wiring lines are the power supply lines extending to a first direction, and
the second wiring lines are signal lines extending to a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.
26 . The display device of claim 20 , wherein the first wiring lines include three wiring lines respectively extending in the first, the second and the third regions, and
wherein one of the three wiring lines has a protrusion within a corresponding one of the first, the second and the third regions.
27 . The display device of claim 26 , wherein another one of the three wiring lines does not have a protrusion within a corresponding one of the first, the second and the third regions.
28 . The display device of claim 27 , wherein only one of the three wiring lines has the protrusion within a corresponding one of the first, the second and the third regions.
29 . The display device of claim 20 , the first surface contour structure is different from the second surface contour structure in both of a first direction and the second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction, and
the second surface contour structure is different from the third surface contour structure in both of a first direction and the second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction, wherein the power supply lines are extending to the second direction.
