Community gaming experience
Abstract
A gaming environment may provide a user with a community gaming experience by providing, via a first interface at a first gaming machine, a display of a wagering game to a first player; determining an initial game outcome for a play of the wagering game by the first player, wherein the initial game outcome is a losing game outcome; based on the losing game outcome by the first player, receiving, from a second player, a selection of an option to wager on a final game outcome, the final game outcome being based in part on the losing game outcome; displaying, via a second interface at a second gaming machine, the final game outcome to the second player; and providing an award to the second player based on the final game outcome.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe invention is claimed as follows:
1 . A gaming system comprising:
at least one display device; at least one input device; at least one processor; and at least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one display device and the at least one input device to:
(a) for a play of a game associated with a first player:
(i) determine a first game outcome, and
(ii) display the first game outcome, and
(b) for the play of the game associated with a second, different player:
(i) enable the second player to make at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome, and
(ii) if the at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome is received:
(A) determine a second game outcome, wherein said second game outcome is based, at least in part, on the displayed first game outcome,
(B) display the second game outcome, wherein the displayed second game outcome includes at least a portion of the displayed first game outcome,
(C) determine any award associated with the displayed second game outcome, and
(D) display any determined award associated with the displayed second game outcome.
2 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first game outcome is an initial game outcome and when executed by the at least one processor, the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to determine any award associated with the displayed first game outcome.
3 . The gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the first game outcome is one of: a losing game outcome and a near-miss losing game outcome.
4 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first game outcome is a partial game outcome.
5 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein at least a first portion of any determined award associated with the displayed second game outcome is provided to the first player.
6 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome made by the second player includes a placement of a wager.
7 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the portion of the displayed first game outcome included in the displayed second game outcome includes at least one playing card from the first game outcome.
8 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the play of the game includes one of: a play of a slot game, a play of a poker game, a play of a blackjack game, a play of a keno game, a play of a baccarat game, and a play of a bingo game.
9 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first player is remote from the second player and remote from the at least one display device.
10 . The gaming system of claim 1 , which includes a plurality of input devices including an acceptor, and a cashout device, wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to operate with the plurality of input devices to: if a physical item is received via the acceptor, establish a credit balance based, at least in part, on a monetary value associated with the received physical item, and if a cashout input is received via the cashout device, cause an initiation of any payout associated with the credit balance.
11 . A gaming system server comprising:
at least one processor; and at least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
(a) for a play of a game associated with a first player:
(i) determine a first game outcome, and
(ii) cause at least one display device to display the first game outcome, and
(b) for the play of the game associated with a second, different player:
(i) enable the second player to make at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome, and
(ii) if data associated with the at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome is received:
(A) determine a second game outcome, wherein said second game outcome is based, at least in part, on the displayed first game outcome,
(B) cause the at least one display device to display the second game outcome, wherein the displayed second game outcome includes at least a portion of the displayed first game outcome,
(C) determine any award associated with the displayed second game outcome, and
(D) cause the at least one display device to display any determined award associated with the displayed second game outcome.
12 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the first game outcome is an initial game outcome and when executed by the at least one processor, the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to determine any award associated with the displayed first game outcome.
13 . The gaming system server of claim 12 , wherein the first game outcome is one of: a losing game outcome and a near-miss losing game outcome.
14 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the first game outcome is a partial game outcome.
15 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein at least a first portion of any determined award associated with the displayed second game outcome is provided to the first player.
16 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the at least one input to modify the displayed first game outcome made by the second player includes a placement of a wager.
17 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the portion of the displayed first game outcome included in the displayed second game outcome includes at least one playing card from the first game outcome.
18 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the play of the game includes one of: a play of a slot game, a play of a poker game, a play of a blackjack game, a play of a keno game, a play of a baccarat game, and a play of a bingo game.
19 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein the first player is remote from the second player and remote from the at least one display device.
20 . The gaming system server of claim 11 , wherein a credit balance is increasable based on any displayed award associated with the displayed second game outcome, said credit balance being increasable via an acceptor of a physical item associated with a monetary value, and said credit balance being decreasable via a cashout device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
