Content recommendation system, content recommendation device, and content recommendation method

Abstract

A content recommendation system includes: a client terminal operated by a user; and a content recommendation server that recommends content to the terminal through a network and includes a preference discrimination information storage section accumulating and storing preference discrimination information in which information related to evaluation of content input to the terminal by a user and identification information of the user are associated with each other, a content feature information storage section storing content feature information in which data indicating features of content are associated with identification information of content, a preference information creation section creating preference information of each user by integrating evaluation for content with the feature of the content for each user based on the preference discrimination information and the content feature information, and a recommended content list providing section transmitting a list of recommended content, extracted by evaluating the degree of similarity of features with the preference information based on the content feature information, to the terminal.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An information processing apparatus, comprising:
 circuitry configured to:
 store preference information of a first user,
 wherein the preference information is based on an evaluation for first content input to a client terminal by the first user; 
 
 recommend second content, to the client terminal through a network, based on content feature information; 
 update the preference information of the first user by an integration of an evaluation for the second content with the content feature information,
 wherein the preference information is updated based on an evaluation context for the evaluation, by the first user, for the second content at the client terminal; and 
 
 recommend a list of content based on the updated preference information. 
   
     
     
         2 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the content feature information comprises features of third content in a format of the preference information. 
     
     
         3 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the client terminal is one of: a personal computer, a computer game system, a home server, transportable computer system, or a cellular phone. 
     
     
         4 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the list of content is further based on a set of filtering conditions, and   wherein the set of filtering conditions is input by the first user or based on a rule.   
     
     
         5 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the preference information of the first user is based on a request input to the client terminal by the first user or a second user. 
     
     
         6 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the content feature information comprises identification information and feature information associated with each other, and   wherein the feature information comprises of a plurality of items that are evaluated and digitized as feature amounts.   
     
     
         7 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the client terminal is configured to request content from a content delivery server based on the recommended list of content. 
     
     
         8 . A method for content recommendation, comprising:
 in an information processing apparatus:
 storing preference information of a first user,
 wherein the preference information is based on an evaluation for first content input to a client terminal by the first user; 
 
 recommending second content, to the client terminal through a network, based on content feature information; 
 updating the preference information of the first user by an integration of an evaluation for the second content with the content feature information, 
 wherein the preference information is updated based on an evaluation context for the evaluation, by the first user, for the second content at the client terminal; and 
 recommending a list of content based on the updated preference information. 
   
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the content feature information comprises features of third content in a format of the preference information. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the client terminal is one of: a personal computer, a computer game system, a home server, transportable computer system, or a cellular phone. 
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein the list of content is further based on a set of filtering conditions, and   wherein the set of filtering conditions is input by the first user or based on a rule.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the preference information of the first user is based on a request input to the client terminal by the first user or a second user. 
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein the content feature information comprises identification information and feature information associated with each other, and   wherein the feature information comprises a plurality of items that are evaluated and digitized as feature amounts.   
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein a request from the client terminal is based on the recommended list of content, and   wherein the request is a request for content from a content delivery server.   
     
     
         15 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon a set of instructions for causing a computer to perform operations, comprising:
 storing a preference information of a first user,
 wherein the preference information is based on an evaluation for first content input to a client terminal by the first user; 
   recommending second content, to the client terminal through a network, based on content feature information;   updating the preference information of the first user by an integration of an evaluation for the second content with the content feature information,
 wherein the preference information is updated based on an evaluation context for the evaluation, by the first user, for the second content at the client terminal; and 
   recommending a list of content based on the updated preference information.   
     
     
         16 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium according to  claim 15 , wherein the content feature information comprises features of third content in a format of the preference information. 
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium according to  claim 15 ,
 wherein the list of content is further based on a set of filtering conditions, and   wherein the set of filtering conditions is input by the first user or based on a rule.   
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium according to  claim 15 , wherein the preference information of the first user is based on a request input to the client terminal by the first user or a second user.
