Abstract

A customizable buzz bait fishing lure system having a support shaft; a rotor mounted on the support shaft; and at least one removable collar structured and arranged to retain the rotor on the support shaft.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A customizable buzz bait fishing lure system comprising:
a support shaft; a rotor mounted on the support shaft; and at least one removable collar structured and arranged to retain the rotor on the support shaft.

2 . The fishing lure of claim 1 , wherein the rotor is rotatable on the support shaft.

3 . The fishing lure of claim 1 , wherein the rotor further comprises two or more blades structured and arranged to induce a rotation of the rotor.

4 . The fishing lure of claim 1 , further comprising a drum attached to the rotor, wherein the drum comprises a tone generator.

5 . The fishing lure of claim 4 , wherein the tone generator comprises a rotationally-actuated tone generator.

6 . The fishing lure of claim 5 , wherein the rotationally-actuated tone generator comprises:
at least one spring having a fixed end and a free end; and at least one spherical striker structured and arranged to be movable in a striker passage so as to impact the free end of the at least one spring, wherein movement of the at least one spherical striker is inducible through at least one of rotation of the drum and gravity acting on the at least one spherical striker.

7 . The fishing lure of claim 6 , wherein the at least one spherical striker comprises two spherical strikers structured and arranged to move in respective striker passages and impact the free ends of respective springs.

8 . The fishing lure of claim 7 , wherein the respective striker passages comprise two channels that are parallel to one another.

9 . The fishing lure of claim 7 , wherein the respective striker passages comprise two arcuate channels.

10 . The fishing lure of claim 6 , wherein the striker passage comprises a circular channel having a center post.

11 . The fishing lure of claim 10 , wherein the circular channel comprises a scalloped surface structured and arranged to interact with the at least one spherical striker.

12 . The fishing lure of claim 11 , further comprising at least one smaller sphere, which is smaller than the at least one spherical striker, arranged in the circular channel, and structured and arranged to interact with the scalloped surface to produce higher frequency tones.

13 . The fishing lure of claim 6 , further comprising at least one spring channel having a longitudinal axis arranged orthogonally with respect a longitudinal axis of the striker channel.

14 . The fishing lure of claim 1 , further comprising:
an eye tie arranged on a front end configured for being attachable to a fishing line; and a releasable connector arranged on a rear end configured for attachment of at least one trailing element.

15 . The fishing lure of claim 1 , wherein the at least one removable collar is removable to permit interchanging of the rotor for a differently configured rotor.

16 . The fishing lure of claim 14 , further comprising the at least one trailing element attached to the releasable connector.

17 . The fishing lure of claim 16 , wherein the at least one trailing element comprises a surface ski configured to generate lift so as to ride on a surface of water and maintain a further element attached behind the surface ski near or on the surface of the water.

18 . The fishing lure of claim 17 , wherein the further element comprises a bait that is not configured to float on the surface of the water, but which remains on the surface of the water due to forces imparted by the surface ski.

19 . The fishing lure of claim 17 , further comprising a wobble device attached behind the surface ski and ahead of the further element, wherein the wobble device is structured and arranged to induce a side-to-side motion to the further element.

20 . The fishing lure of claim 17 , wherein surface ski is configured such that the lift generated by the surface ski is sufficient to overcome any downwardly-directed force imparted by the further element, and
wherein the wobble device is structured and arranged to utilize the downwardly-directed force to impart a side-to-side wobble to the further element.

21 . The fishing lure of claim 19 , further comprising a wobble device clip structured and arranged to secure the wobble device to the surface ski, and having an attachment point for the further element.

22 . The fishing lure of claim 17 , further comprising:
a wobble device attached behind the surface ski and ahead of the further element; and a wobble device clip structured and arranged to secure the wobble device to the surface ski, and having an attachment point for the further element, wherein the wobble device clip is structured and arranged to maintain the wobble device in a centered position when the further element is a non-wobbling lure, and configured to permit a wobbling of the wobble device when the further element comprises a wobbling lure.
