Abstract

A skin treatment regimen for delivery of a rinse-off personal skin care composition is provided. The rinse-off personal skin care composition includes varying ratios of a lathering agent to a hydrophobic benefit agent. The rinse-off personal skin care composition can be applied to skin of a user in phases over and/or in a treatment cycle. Each of the phases of the treatment cycle can include a ratio of the varying ratios that can be different such as higher or lower than a ratio of adjacent phase.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for improving the quality of skin, comprising:
dispensing from a package a structured personal cleansing composition comprising from about 10% to about 50%, by weight of the composition, of a hydrophobic benefit agent comprising petrolatum, mineral oil, soybean oil, or a combination thereof; and from about 4% to about 25%, by weight of the composition, of a surfactant, applying the personal cleansing composition to a user's skin together with water, rinsing the personal cleansing composition from the user's skin, wherein a portion of the hydrophobic benefit agent is deposited and remains on the user's skin after rinsing, and repeating the steps of applying and rinsing on at least a once daily basis over a time interval of successive days, the time interval of use sufficient to permit detection of measurable improvement in at least one skin property selected from reduction in total protein; an increase in the amount of one or more of Keratin 1, Keratin 10 and Keratin 11; and a decrease in cytokine expression.

2 . A method according to claim 1 , wherein the package operates to dispense the composition in aliquots, and wherein the ratio of surfactant to hydrophobic benefit agent varies in successively dispensed aliquots of the composition over the course of dispensing the package contents such that the amount of hydrophobic benefit agent in two or more successive aliquots is different.

         3 . (canceled)

         4 . (canceled)

         5 . (canceled)

         6 . (canceled)

         7 . (canceled)

         8 . (canceled)

9 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the measurable improvement is reduction in total protein, wherein the total protein improvement index is greater than 10.

10 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the measurable improvement is an increase in the amount of one or more of Keratin 1, Keratin 10 and Keratin 11, wherein the Keratin improvement index is greater than 50.

11 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the surfactant comprises sodium trideceth sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, or a combination thereof.

12 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the ratio by weight of surfactant to hydrophobic benefit agent is from about 50:50 to about 90:10.
