Abstract

The disclosed embodiments relate to techniques for facilitating thermal transfer in a portable electronic device. The portable electronic device includes a battery pack, which further includes a battery cell. The battery pack may supply power to a set of components in the portable electronic device. The portable electronic device also includes a heat dissipator composed of graphene. The heat dissipator may be in thermal contact with one or more of the components. The heat dissipator may also be disposed over a surface of the battery pack.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A portable electronic device, comprising:
a set of components powered by a battery pack; the battery pack comprising a battery cell; and a pouch enclosing the battery pack and the set of components, the pouch comprising:
 a layer of polypropylene; and
a graphene layer disposed over the layer of polypropylene.

22 . A portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the graphene layer is disposed over a surface of the battery pack and disposed over a surface of at least one of the components.

23 . The portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the set of components comprises at least one of an integrated circuit and a memory.

24 . The portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the battery cell comprises:
a set of layers comprising a cathode with an active coating, a cathode current collector; a separator, an anode with an active coating; and an anode current collector.

25 . The portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the layers are wound to create a jelly roll.

26 . The portable electronic device of claim 24 , further comprising a solid electrolyte.

27 . The portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the pouch further comprises:
 a layer of aluminum.

28 . The portable electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the graphene layer in contact with the battery pack and the one or more of the components is configured to transfer heat between the one or more components and the battery.

29 . A method of making a portable electronic device, comprising:
arranging a set of components and a battery pack within an enclosure of the portable electronic device, the enclosure comprising:
 a layer of polypropylene; and
a graphene layer disposed over the layer of polypropylene.

30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the graphene layer is disposed over a surface of the battery pack and over a surface of at least one of the components.

31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the set of components comprises at least one of an integrated circuit and a memory.

32 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the battery comprises:
a set of layers comprising a cathode with an active coating, a separator, and an anode with an active coating; wherein the enclosure is a flexible pouch enclosing the set of layers.

33 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the set of layers are wound to create a jelly roll.

34 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the battery comprises:
a cathode current collector; a cathode active material; a solid electrolyte; an anode active material; and an anode current collector.

35 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the enclosure further comprises:
 a layer of aluminum.
