Abstract

The invention in suitable embodiments is directed to purified non-cage clathrin protein compositions. In one aspect, one or more purified non-cage clathrin protein composition, formed in whole or in part from isolated, synthetic and or recombinant amino acid residues, forms a composition to repurpose at least one aspect of a medicament or use thereof when the medicament is formulated with the non-cage clathrin protein.

In view of the foregoing, what is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A protein composition for use in repurposing drugs comprising: a man made non-cage clathrin protein and has an amino acid sequence of at least 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90% sequence identity when compared to SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7 SEQ ID NO: 8, SEQ ID NO: 9, SEQ ID NO: 10 or SEQ ID NO: 11, and including at least one of a drug element of one or more type, wherein a formulation comprised of the preceding protein or composition and at least a portion of the drug repurposes at least one aspect of the drug or use thereof, and administering the formulation to a subject in need thereof. 
     
     
         2 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , further comprising, a man made protein that has at least 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90% sequence identity when compared to SEQ ID NO: 12 or SEQ ID NO: 13, and the preceding protein disposed adjacent to the sequence according to  claim 1 , and binding to the sequence. 
     
     
         3 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the drug element is a large or small molecule drug. 
     
     
         4 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the drug element is a biological. 
     
     
         5 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the drug element is a chemical. 
     
     
         6 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the drug element is bound together with the composition. 
     
     
         7 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the drug element is incorporated into the composition. 
     
     
         8 . The protein composition of  claim 1  comprising, a multiple of the protein. 
     
     
         9 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , comprising, a multiple of the drug elements. 
     
     
         10 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the man made protein has a molecular mass of at least about 170 kilodaltons. 
     
     
         11 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the man made protein comprises a plurality of biologically active, biologically modified, chiral, genetically modified, hybridized, isolated, chemically modified, masked, recombinant, synthetic or unmasked protein molecules, or a combination thereof. 
     
     
         12 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the man made protein is stable with respect to dissociation. 
     
     
         13 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein composition is formulated for any suitable route and means of administration. 
     
     
         14 . The protein composition of  claim 13 , wherein the protein composition is formulated as an adhesive, aerosols, a biologic, a capsule, a chemical compound, a coated, crystals, eye drops, gels, an injectable, liquids, oils, ointments, a polymer, powders, a prosthetic, salves, soft galantine capsules, a stent, a controlled release, subcutaneous, surgical, syrups, a tablet, a topical, a vapor, or a water soluble formula. 
     
     
         15 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein further comprises, receptors for capturing and positioning the one or more elements on the protein. 
     
     
         16 . The research tool composition of  claim 1 , wherein the protein further comprises, a scaffold for supporting the one or more drug elements. 
     
     
         17 . The protein composition of  claim 1 , further comprising a therapeutic agent. 
     
     
         18 . The protein composition of  claim 17 , wherein the therapeutic agent is a drug for treating at least one of a disease, condition or disorder. 
     
     
         19 . A method for repurposing at least one aspect of a drug or use thereof, comprising formulating at least a portion of the drug with the protein or composition according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising enhancing at least one of efficacy of the drug. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising changing at least one of medical indication of the drug. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising enhancing at least one of targeting the drug. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising adjusting at least one of response of the drug. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising improving at least one of administration of the drug. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising reducing at least one of adverse side effect of the drug. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising improving at least one of safety profile of the drug 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising adjusting at least one of dosing of the drug.

         29 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising enabling or enhancing at least one of activating, assaying, deactivating, delivering, disassembling, releasing, reporting, self-assembling, sensing, testing or transporting of the drug. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising enabling or enhancing at least one of processing, manipulating, encoding, decoding, inputing, outputting, transmitting, communicating, storing or reading information and the drug. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising enabling or enhancing at least one of imaging and the drug. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 19 , comprising improving at least one of clinical trial of the drug. 
     
     
         33 . A method for repurposing at least one aspect of a drug or use thereof, comprising administering the formulation according to  claim 1  to a subject. 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 33 , comprising administering a non-invasive formulation of the drug. 
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 33 , comprising administering the drug across at least one of blood brain, blood-cerebrospinal, blood vessel, capillary, cell, cell membrane, circumventricular, epithelial, extracellular, fenestrated capillary, fenestrated vessel, intracellular, intramuscular, lipid, lymphatic, nasal, nasal cavity, nasal mucosa, ocular, olfactory epithelium, olfactory nerve, oral, anal, membrane protein, organelle, paracellular, perineural space, plasma membrane, skin, subarachnoid, subcutaneous, tight junction, trigeminal nerve, vomeronasal, vesicle barrier. 
     
     
         36 . A method for a protein composition for use in repurposing drugs comprising: forming a man made non-cage clathrin protein and has an amino acid sequence of at least 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90% sequence identity when compared to SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7 SEQ ID NO: 8, SEQ ID NO: 9, SEQ ID NO: 10 or SEQ ID NO: 11, and including at least one of a drug element of one or more type, wherein a formulation comprised of the preceding protein or composition and at least a portion of the drug repurposes at least one aspect of the drug or use thereof, and administering the formulation to a subject in need thereof.
