Alerts for Messages

Abstract

Scores, fight songs, and other sports oriented alerts are provided for electronic communications. Different network addresses may be associated with different sports teams. When a communications request is processed, sports scores and video highlights may be played as ringtones to alert of an email, text, or call.

1 . A method, comprising:
 receiving, by a server, a text message associated with a recipient's network address;   querying, by the server, an electronic database for the recipient's network address, the electronic database having electronic associations between network addresses and sports teams;   retrieving, by the server, a sports team of the sports teams from the electronic database, the sports team having an electronic association with the recipient's network address; and   sending, by the server, an indication of the sports team to the recipient's network address for presentation as an alert of the text message.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising retrieving a score associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising sending the score to the recipient's network address. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising retrieving a filename that is electronically associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising sending the filename to the recipient's network address. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising retrieving a file that is electronically associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising sending the file to the recipient's network address. 
     
     
         8 . A system, comprising:
 a hardware processor; and   a memory device, the memory device storing code, the code when executed causing the hardware processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:   receiving a text message associated with a recipient's network address;   querying an electronic database for the recipient's network address, the electronic database having electronic associations between network addresses and sports teams;   retrieving a sports team of the sports teams from the electronic database, the sports team having an electronic association with the recipient's network address; and   sending the text message to the recipient's network address, the text message comprising an indication of the sports team for presenting an alert of the text message.   
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a score associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the score as the indication of the sports team. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a filename that is electronically associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the filename as the indication of the sports team. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a file that is electronically associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the file as the indication of the sports team. 
     
     
         15 . A memory device storing instructions that when executed cause a hardware processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 receiving a text message associated with a recipient's network address;   querying an electronic database for the recipient's network address, the electronic database having electronic associations between network addresses and sports teams;   retrieving a sports team of the sports teams from the electronic database, the sports team having an electronic association with the recipient's network address;   retrieving a video file that is electronically associated with the sports team having the electronic association with the recipient's network address;   sending the text message to the recipient's network address; and   sending the video file to accompany the text message to a device associated with the recipient's network address, the video file for presentation by the device as an alert of the text message.   
     
     
         16 . The memory device of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a score associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         17 . The memory device of  claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the score to the recipient's network address. 
     
     
         18 . The memory device of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving a filename that is electronically associated with the sports team. 
     
     
         19 . The memory device of  claim 18 , wherein the operations further comprise sending the filename to the recipient's network address. 
     
     
         20 . The memory device of  claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise sending a file that is electronically associated with the sports team.
