Providing a user with virtual computing services
Abstract
Systems and methods for providing a user with virtual computing services are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for providing virtual computing services to a specific user, may comprising: detecting a request generated from a user device of the specific user to access data; in which the data is not accessible by applications installed on the user device; identifying a file type of the data; and providing the specific user access to a remote application or a virtual desktop, in which the remote application or the virtual desktop is configured to allow the specific user to open, execute, edit, and/or access the data.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
detecting a user-initiated request generated from a user local device to access a dataset; wherein the dataset is not accessible by applications installed on the user device, wherein being accessible includes being able to open, edit, or execute the dataset; identifying a file type of the dataset; determining a remote application available on a remote host that is associated with the file type and capable of accessing data of the file type by opening, editing, or executing the data; and streaming the remote application, in response to the user-initiated request, to the user local device to access the dataset through the user local device.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein streaming the remote application includes streaming the remote application, in whole, to the user local device for offline usage.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data is stored in the user local device.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data is stored in the remote host.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data is stored on one or more remote storages.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein streaming the remote application includes streaming the remote application, in part, to the user local device for online usage.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein streaming the remote application includes proving a virtual desktop session to the user local device.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising providing selectable service models to either stream the remote application in whole for offline usage or in part for online usage.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving a selection of one of the selectable service models.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , further comprising requesting a fee associated with the selection before streaming the remote application.
11 . A system for providing a remote application to a user, comprising:
one or more processors; one or more computer-readable medium comprising instructions, that, when executed by the processors, are operable to:
detect a user-initiated request generated from a user local device to access a dataset, wherein the dataset is not accessible by applications installed on the user device, wherein being accessible includes being able to open, edit, or execute the dataset;
identify a file type of the dataset;
identify a remote application available on a remote host that is associated with the file type and capable of accessing data of the file type by opening, editing, or executing the data; and
stream the remote application, in response to the user-initiated request, to the user local device to access the dataset through the user local device.
12 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
implementing a virtual desktop service utilizing a network of servers that are synchronized; establishing a secure protocol between a user computing device and the virtual desktop service; load-balancing amongst servers in functional network grids of the network of servers to select one or more servers; generating service components of the virtual desktop service utilizing the selected servers; and streaming the service components to the user computing device to provide a virtualized desktop to a user of the user computing device.
13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein establishing the secure protocol includes authenticating a user profile of the user computing device for access to the virtual desktop service.
14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein establishing the secure protocol includes providing a firewall between the service components and the user computing device.
15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein implementing the virtual desktop service includes connecting and synchronizing the network of servers using a virtual private network protocol.
16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the network of servers are partitioned into the functional network grids respectively corresponding to the service components of the virtual desktop service.
17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the functional network grids includes an applications grid, the applications grid including multiple application streaming servers.
18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the functional network grids includes a back-office grid, the back-office grid including servers configured to track application subscription transactions of a user profile of the user.
19 . The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the functional network grids includes a storage grid, the storage grid including multiple storage devices.
20 . A computer system comprising:
a synchronization component configured to implement a virtual desktop service utilizing a network of servers that are synchronized; a firewall component configured to establish a secure protocol between a user computing device and the virtual desktop service; and the network of servers partitioned into functional network grids, each grid configured to load-balance to select one or more servers to generate a service component, wherein service components of the functional network grids implements the virtual desktop service; and wherein the firewall component is configured to stream the service components to the user computing device to provide a virtualized desktop to a user of the user computing device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
